It was finally a chance for me to own something wiksten that is within my budget. The package itself did not disappoint. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. I made these giraffes from a japanese craft book called "Animal Mascots". They're made from wool felt with drawn on spots. Wren from The Artful Bird. Long time, no post, I know.But I have been busy. Here is the wren pattern from the book, "The Artful Bird". Sunday, May 29, 2011. Three little hens here courtesy of Ikat bag patterns. The instructions were very good and the pieces fit together just right. I had my chickens lined up in an assembly line and they only took about 2 or 3 evenings of sewing. I used all felt instead of fleece. Monday, May 23, 2011. Experiments with dye: shibori inspired. Sunday, March 28, 2010. LASS: pottery painting at terramia, S.F. For celebrating the grand poombah's birth we went to Terramia, a pottery painting place in Noe Valley. It was the first time there for the four of us and we took our time picking out pieces and painting (about 4 hrs! I was pretty happy with the teapot I painted for our Lass outing, though I felt the glazing could have been better (it turned out a bit lumpy). You can see the lumpy part on the left side of this picture. Stuff I'm working on:.

Sunday, September 5, 2010. Wiksten Tank Dress Pattern: Tank. My second garment from this pattern - the tank in Liberty of London Susanna Grey. First off, I just love a pattern that fits together so well as this one does. Second, I love working with a fabric that lends itself to a good outcome. And here we have it ready for summer's last call. Where does the pocket end and where does it begin? I can't wait till the end of October. I'm thinking about fabrics for the Tova pattern already. Monday, January 11, 2010. The Lass Ladies would like to announce our newest member: The Soprana. For the initiation, we had her do all sorts of difficult acts, that we cannot publish here, to show just how crafty she is; but also we had her make a ton of Martha Stewart glittered card kits, that the Grand Poobah. Got for $2 a piece in a discount store. Two kinds of kits were found, the bird kit. And a botanical kit. One great bonus for these, is that if you're a good. Links to this post.

Monday, August 31, 2009. LASS outing took place at the lovely boutique of Bell'occhio in San Francisco. Lass L had come across their website. In one of her wanderings, and once it was noted they were local to us, it was quickly decided by the LASS founders that we had to. Go there in person. And adorable collection of tiny note cards. Beyond the craft, they have some jewelery pieces, oversize, fuzzy boxes. Shaped like various fruits, and random other pieces of whimsy like mouches. And crowns for bees.
