Jozi's Tin Man: June 2015
http://jozistinman.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. A quick 5Core SciFi Skirmish. Had a nice, quick game of 5Core skirmish with my wife's nephew again last weekend. Just a 30 minute game, was able to quickly set it up using my new Terrablox terrain, or actually, I let our nephew do it. He played Space Marines and I had some Orks. The game was fast and fun, you cannot ask for more than that from a set of rules! Meanwhile, we have been pretty busy around the house, but we are off to Historicon in 2 weeks! Still playing catch up, here are some snaps from our all day visit to the Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia, part of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. It is a huge facility where they keep the big stuff that won't fit in the building on the mall and is packed with amazing aircraft,. Here is a small sample of what you can see: (Click to enlarge). A Sparrowhak that flew from US Navy Dirigibles. The bas...

Mike's Miniatures: February 2015
http://mikesminiatures.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 6, 2015. My 1st Impressions on the rule set Fist Full of Tows 3. I have been looking for a rule set for micro armor for sometime and have not been satisfied with ones I have found. I think that is why there are so many rules out there, as gamers we are always looking for new rule sets that fits their criteria or we all have ADHD. Probably a little of both, I know that is the case with me. It is a print on demand through Lulu and one has three choices A PDF, a hardbound or coil bound, I c...

Jozi's Tin Man: October 2014
http://jozistinman.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 21, 2014. 5 Parsecs from Home Campaign. Like many of us, I spend far too much time making terrain, painting figures I may never use, and reading rule-sets rather than actually playing. So, I decided I want to play a 5 Parsecs from Home campaign and see how the rules work. So let’s start with our cast… (click to enlarge). Mission: Find Someone (Who? Opposition will have player figures 1 less figure than the player. No stealth, daytime. So, padre, what can I do for you? One of the platoon ...

Lead Doesn't Bleed: July 2014
http://leadnobleed.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
A politically incorrect, family-unfriendly war and gaming blog. Monday, July 28, 2014. French Army for Black Powder: 3mm Oddzial Osmy. The core of my French Napoleonic Army for Black Powder. I rebased it during the World Cup and painted up the last few units. Here are some pictures:. I learned a lot doing these. In the first place, as with all microscales, you need to exagerate your paint jobs and use the brightest colors possible: medium gray for black, bright crimson for red, bright blue for blue, etc.

Lead Doesn't Bleed: Magister Militum's 18th Century 3mm figures
http://leadnobleed.blogspot.com/2015/05/magister-militums-18th-century-3mm.html
A politically incorrect, family-unfriendly war and gaming blog. Monday, May 18, 2015. Magister Militum's 18th Century 3mm figures. As many people now know, Magister Militum has launched a series of new 3mm lines:Ancients, Pike and Shot and early 18th century. They have massively expanded the options for 3mm gaming overnight and, curiously, haven't really bothered to publicize their new line. I bought MM's musketeers, cavalry and artillery in tricornes, because I wanted to do some rather generic 18. Lucki...
