Dublin on nitrogen: October 2007
http://dublinonnitrogen.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
From swerve of shore to bend of bay. Monday, October 29, 2007. The world is too much with us. Whenever I work more than a few days in a row without doing anything real (i.e. reading), I find that I'm not really the same. This happens on weekends, when I go from spending the whole week studying to working late and sleeping late. This summer when this happened I picked up an old Norton Anthology and randomly read some of Wordsworth's sonnets. This one stuck out:. Little we see in Nature that is ours;.

Dublin on nitrogen: January 2008
http://dublinonnitrogen.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
From swerve of shore to bend of bay. Thursday, January 31, 2008. Der Platz ist verflucht! One of my favorite arias, Maria's (Wozzeck's wife, pre-drowning) first, where she sings "eia popeia," crops up again just after Wozzeck kills her on some scrambled ragtime-esque saloon piano riff. Genius. The Viennese are like the stoic grandpa: when he makes a joke, it's such a shock you're not sure whether to laugh. If you were wondering, the title means "This place is haunted! Saturday, January 26, 2008. Word, li...

Dublin on nitrogen: Irish Whiskey, English Mustard, American Pie
http://dublinonnitrogen.blogspot.com/2008/07/irish-whiskey-english-mustard-american.html
From swerve of shore to bend of bay. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Irish Whiskey, English Mustard, American Pie. But not like that, sicko. I never noticed it before I was here, but it's tough when one of your three favorite foods is turned into a cultural sex toy. "Do you have pie? When I rarely eat out, then even more rarely order dessert, in fact, I don't think this has ever happened "But not beef and Guinness pie, American pie, with fruit" which sounds like you're playing a joke, and no, tarts are not okay.

Dublin on nitrogen: April 2008
http://dublinonnitrogen.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
From swerve of shore to bend of bay. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. The proof is in the 'stache. You requested proof (in blog title), sorry it took so long. I grew comedy facial hair, in case it's too faint to see. Yes, it's there. Thursday, April 24, 2008. Pictures 3: The Wall. This is the East Side Gallery, an open-air graffiti gallery on the east side of what's left of the Berlin Wall. It's pretty great. I love this text. Not sure what it says. I just like this photo. Pictures 2: Treptow Park. I'm separat...

Dublin on nitrogen: Pancaking
http://dublinonnitrogen.blogspot.com/2008/07/pancaking.html
From swerve of shore to bend of bay. Saturday, July 26, 2008. To Samuel Beckett (any elaboration needed? Pancaking is never really done with. The current plate is finished, yet there is still almost a whole bag of white flour left, not to mention all the multi-grain flour, yeast, baking powder, baking soda, etc. But now, at least, I'm satisfied with a job well done, and also there's syrup all over my computer. Happy eating - enjoy, Dad. July 26, 2008 at 3:01 PM. July 26, 2008 at 5:45 PM. Posts to come in...

Dublin on nitrogen: March 2008
http://dublinonnitrogen.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
From swerve of shore to bend of bay. Saturday, March 29, 2008. More fresh than Will Smith circa 1990. And kalamata olive oil (€8 for 75 cl! Really, my new Saturday ritual. In fact, I'll just try to do all my shopping weekly there. That got a bit didactic there. But, then again, I'm cooking my goats cheese and portabello omelet in kalamata olive oil, using organic garlic. And beautiful, beautiful tomatoes. Update: It was the greatest omelet I have ever had in my life, ever. Thursday, March 27, 2008. More ...

Dublin on nitrogen: Tuning is a function of time
http://dublinonnitrogen.blogspot.com/2008/08/tuning-is-function-of-time.html
From swerve of shore to bend of bay. Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Tuning is a function of time. Thanks for a year of good blogging! August 6, 2008 at 8:43 AM. I second Alyssa's comment. also, I think that you should let me come over when you're cooking someday soon, so you can tell me all about Ireland and so I can have delicious food. Hope it's good to be back in this nitrogen-less world. August 9, 2008 at 9:59 AM. This comment has been removed by the author. August 9, 2008 at 9:59 AM.
