The current project to save and restore the designed landscape of Hafod was initiated in 1990 by a private benefactor through the Welsh Historic Gardens Trust. The Trust formed a partnership with Forestry Commission to undertake practical conservation, concentrating on the network of Johnesian paths. Originally broadcast on Saturday 19 July takes a walk through Hafod with broadcaster Felicity Evans, Estate Manager, David Newnham, landscape historian Jennie Macve and botanist Ray Wood. The Hafod Trust welcomes enquiries from groups wishing to arrange pre-booked guided tours of Hafod, including evening and weekend visits.
