To me, modesty isn’t about how much skin a woman decides to cover up, it is more about how she behaves, and how she treats others. No Woman was dishonoured in the 1971 Liberation War. During the past 44 years of Independence, ever since 1971 till 2015, we have learnt, heard and known that we earned our freedom at a dear cost of dignity/dishonour of over 2 lakh women of Bangladesh. We have learnt it all wrong. The truth is that no woman lost her respect and dignity in ’71. Have they lost their dignity?
