Prajna Paramita: April 2011
http://ourbuddhablog.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 15, 2011. Enemies are our spiritual friends. If there are no aggressors or harm-doers, patience does not arise. It appears only in the presence of those who attack us. Given therefore that it is precisely an enemy that is the definite cause for the practice of patience, how can it possibly be said that the enemy is an obstacle to our merit and virtue? It does not make sense, for the former is the cause of the latter. It is the absence. Of the enemy that prevents patience from arising.

Prajna Paramita: Meeting with Rinpoche
http://ourbuddhablog.blogspot.com/2014/12/meeting-with-rinpoche.html
Monday, December 29, 2014. Several of the people on the pilgrimage met with Lama Norlha Rinpoche last night to get his blessing and advice for the trip. I was not able to make it, but Lama Karma thoughtfully recorded the meeting for those of us who couldn't be there. Some things that stuck out from the meeting were:. This is an extraordinary opportunity to receive daily teachings from H.H. the Karmapa. Be careful what you drink and what you eat. Don't trust the water! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Prajna Paramita: April 2009
http://ourbuddhablog.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 07, 2009. A favorite song of mine. A cripple on his deathbed and a daydream did ride,. Out past the streams of fire on a pedaled path did glide,. He left his wheelchair spinning deeper in the mud. In it set his memories and his body and his blood. An angel came to greet him by his side she flew,. Whispered as a part of him what he already knew,. His head was spinning freely and it was plain to see,. His burden was himself, he bore, the sight his eyes could be. Thursday, April 02, 2009.

Prajna Paramita: July 2014
http://ourbuddhablog.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 30, 2014. What if your whole mental model of the universe has become so distorted from the repeated malfunctioning of this certificate system, that there is no objective way for you to sort out which thoughts are true from which are false? Then it wouldn't seem unusual. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Schizophrenia: an untrustworthy spidey sense. Put these special events together must be crazy, not the other way around. Excerpted from "Surviving Schizophrenia, A Family Manual". Is a Buddhist term...

Prajna Paramita: August 2009
http://ourbuddhablog.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 30, 2009. There are two ways of seeing everything,. A perfect way and a false way. So each and every thing that can ever be found. Holds two natures within. And what does perfect seeing see? It sees the suchness of all things. And false seeing sees what appears, no more. This is what the perfect Buddha said. Friday, August 21, 2009. Wednesday, August 19, 2009. I wonder whether following the money funneling into these town hall disruptors would ultimately lead to the insurance companies?

Prajna Paramita: The three characteristics of phenomena
http://ourbuddhablog.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-three-characteristics-of-phenomena.html
Friday, November 14, 2014. The three characteristics of phenomena. The teaching is that all compounded phenomena are marked by three characteristics: impermanence, suffering and not-self. I had come across in Tibetan teachings the fact that all compounded phenomena are marked by the above three characteristics. The new feature I hadn't been exposed to was the teaching on how these three characteristics are masked or disguised, which I'll now summarize:. Impermanence is masked by a sense of continuity.

Prajna Paramita: November 2014
http://ourbuddhablog.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 17, 2014. I mentioned in my last post Ajahn Punnadhammo's image of crossing a stream as an analogy for the Buddhist path. The idea is that to reach the other sure, at some point, you have to step out into the water unsupported, a proverbial leap of faith. However, without any evidence that you are headed in an appropriate direction, what motivation is there to do so? Friday, November 14, 2014. The three characteristics of phenomena.
