A very generous lady who owns this restaurant invites kids and volunteers at the Orphanage for a free lunch, which includes not only pizza, but fried chicken, salad, and some Korean food. Last week we took three 3-year-olds who behaved very nicely! Here is the sweet owner of the restaurant holding a precious little boy who is showing us. With his fingers that he is now 3 years old. Wednesday, September 23, 2009. We are in the process of changing the look and feel of our website! I am excited about all of the things going on in the home. This month, we have had many new volunteers join us in the work of caring for these precious little ones! Here are some recent pictures taken at a pizza lunch! We are able to rotate children through this special outing and have delicious pizza, kimbap and other tastey treats! It is always a highlight for them (and us! Fun faces for the camera!

Today about eight of us volunteers were able to take about seven kids, ages 4 - 8, from the orphanage out to Gold's Pizza for a delicious lunch of pizza, vegetable salad, fruit salad, hot chocolate, and spagetti. Men ellers var der masser af ”rigtige” restauranter i byen og vi fik afprøvet flere af dem og blev bekræftet i at vietnamesisk mad fremover vil være en bestanddel af vores køkken derhjemme også. Tirsdag den 22. september 2009. Lige et billede af vores nye hus! I sommer mens børnene og jeg var i Danmark deltog Jan på et mountainbikeløb i Indre Mongoliet. En stor og vist også hård oplevelse. Søndag den 11. april 2010. Jeg har jo lige fortalt om mine forældres besøg og Johannes fødselsdag. Så nu fortsætter jeg med et "lille nyhedsbrev" der starter hvor mine forældre tog hjem d. 26. marts. Jeg kørte dem til lufthavnen og gik så nedenunder til ankomsthallen hvor jeg hentede Jonas der kom med samme fly som de skulle tilbage til Danmark med. De næste 3 dage skulle Jan på arbejde så Jonas var med mig rundt og handle, hente børn og slappede ellers af med børnene om eftermiddagen når vi var hjemme.

Lige efter nytår fik vi jo mere sne her i Tianjin end de har set i 50 år. Alle skoler i Tianjin og Beijing var lukket. Men børnene syntes det var fantastisk. Søndag den 8. november 2009. Tibet - en anden verden. Vores ture til Tibet var fantastiske på hver deres måde. Jeg kan jo ikke tale for Jan men jeg ved at det er et sted vi begge gerne ville opleve igen en dag. Inden vi endte i byen Shigatse besøgte vi endnu et buddhistisk tempel - med enormt mange buddhastatuer i alle afskygninger. Herreturen var stort set magen til vores.
