Friday, 23 March 2012. Went for a final stroll through the Medina on my last day in Rabat. We drove to Casablanca on Friday 23rd for a final meeting with IBM Morocco then fly home on Saturday - I think everyone is looking forward to getting home even though we've had an amazing experience here. Here are some photos of the Rabat Medina, enjoy! A $6,500 door! The shop with wonderful 36c cakes! Our usual entrance into the Medina. I hope you don't mind your bread pawed-over by others! Monday, 12 March 2012. Fun in Fes - Part 1. Six of us caught the train to Fes the weekend of 10-12 March - a much more pleasurable journey than the bumpy minibus we had to Marrakech the previous weekend! We booked First Class, the only way to go apparently - six-seater compartment, AC, no smoking, assigned seating - and only 198 dirham return each (approx $24) for the 2.5 hour each-way trip. Karen, myself and Mihoko in our suite, overlooking the courtyard. One of the girls' bedrooms (2 beds plus divan).

The restaurant staff are trying to train us each morning with new words so I'm sure we'll have at least french words for breakfast items down pat before we leave! Monday, 5 March 2012. Ben Youssef Medersa (Koranic school). The whole team went on a roadtrip to Marrakech on the weekend. We hired a minbus and driver for the weekend, much easier than trying to coordinate taxis and train. The drive took about 4 hours and we arrived to lovely warm weather with clear blue skies. Tuesday, 20 March 2012. On Sunday Karen, Tej and I headed by tram over the bridge to Sale (pronounced Sar-lay) to have a walk along the beach front. We had a really leisurely day, just taking our time walking along the beach or sitting on the rocks looking back over the Casbah. After lunch in Sale we headed back by tram to the Rabat side of the water and visited Mohammed V's tomb, a very popular tourist spot - both locals and the usual busloads of Chinese tourists.
