Housework and Holiness | Learning Along the Way
https://ohmymonster.wordpress.com/2011/10/11/housework-and-holiness
Learning Along the Way. I have struggled with housework most of my adult life. There was a period of time when I had a cleaning schedule and stuck to it, but it was, sadly, a short-lived experience. Lately I seem to be hurrying to clean the most obvious messes just when I know someone is making their way to my house. I read an excerpt from Elisabeth Elliot’s book,. A Lamp For My Feet. Here is what Elisabeth said:. 8220;The job has been given to me to do. Therefore it is a gift. Therefore it is a privilege.

https://ohmymonster.wordpress.com/2015/09/02/when-christian-leaders-fail
Learning Along the Way. When Christian Leaders Fail. Sometimes I think some of us human beings are great. Some teach, preach, write, sing, pray, and lead in amazing ways. I begin to believe that they live at a different level from the rest of us. I forget that they are made of flesh, and they struggle with temptation and sin, just like I do. So how do we respond? What is the average Christian supposed to do when grieving this loss of admiration? I thought of how my own life teeters on the brink of disast...

Cracked | Learning Along the Way
https://ohmymonster.wordpress.com/2014/12/28/cracked
Learning Along the Way. With only a few weeks of dry, winter weather, my skin has gone from smooth, normal skin to crazy, cracked skin. The heels of my feet have become weapons of mass destruction, slashing through hosiery, snagging on socks, catching on pants and blankets. There are shards of skin wickedly standing on end, ready to inflict pain and injury upon impact. How does that happen so quickly? All I need to avoid this problem is the discipline of applying God’s Word daily, or more often as needed...

Supply for My Need | Learning Along the Way
https://ohmymonster.wordpress.com/2013/05/28/supply-for-my-need
Learning Along the Way. Supply for My Need. Will my children have enough work and fun and rest for a good summer? Will my oldest find a job? Will we get to the driver’s license office with the right paperwork before she forgets everything she learned in driver’s ed? Will my garden get the weeds pulled out before they strangle the things I’m trying to grow in there? I have more unknowns, but I’ll stop here. Streams in the Desert. The following is an excerpt from the reading for May 27:. My questions do no...
