Posted by Amy at 8:05 PM. Sunday, October 30, 2005. I know some people don't like blogging because it tends to replace email (i find this is true for myself), but it does have a special way of bringing people together. Love, amy) now the mass email can read, "check my blog: farmertan.blogspot.com. love, amy). That, my friends, is s...

Tidbits from out of town. Tuesday, March 21, 2006. March 21 was a snow day for omaha public schools. actually it was the second of two consecutive snow days, but this one was nicer because most of the day was a thaw from the previous day and night, and so it was nice enough for me to don my snowboots and go on a long walk with my dog. I didn't see him again by the time i got back to my car. the snow was melting and almost gone by that time and i like to think that perhaps he got stuck and had to walk.

Tidbits from out of town. Friday, December 09, 2005. Monday," i said. "yes, i've been there. using pennies for gas- i've been there. you know, some cashiers used to refuse to take my change." "really? That's very rude." "i know. money is money. they just didn't want to count it. i told my husband that if i were ever a cashier i would never do that." "i really appreciate it," i said. we wished each other good day and i left the store with tears in my eyes. Posted by Amy at 7:40 PM. First Day of Autumn.

Tidbits from out of town. Saturday, April 15, 2006. Today's walk was actually a walk/ride. tim's feet were hurting so we were going to ride our bikes, but i have a different sort of valve stem on my tires and my special bianchi pump wasn't working so i had to walk while he rode, though we did switch every mile or two. i loved this walk because 1) tim was with me and 2) our dog is so funny. It was a happy walk. Posted by Amy at 7:00 PM. Monday, April 10, 2006. Tip of the day. I have scars to show for it.

Tidbits from out of town. Monday, September 24, 2007. First Day of Autumn. James Whitcomb Riley. 1853 1916. When the Frost is on the Punkin". WHEN the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock,. And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin' turkey-cock,. And the clackin' of the guineys, and the cluckin' of the hens,. And the rooster's hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;. O, it's then the time a feller is a-feelin' at his best,. They's something kindo' harty-like about the atmusfere.

Monday, May 29, 2006. I've now tried the Mayan Chocolate. It is a "rich chocolate ice cream with a fudge swirl and a hint of cinnamon." It was very smooth ice cream. The fudge swirl was a pleasant accent. The "hint" of cinnamon was not as subtle, which is okay, but distracts from the chocolate. Chocolate Peanut Butter still reigns. Posted by Daniel @ 10:18 PM. Tidbits from out of town. Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Posted by Amy at 4:01 PM. Speaking of peppers, Oh my goodness fresh jalapeños are spicy. We have a real jalapeño and a Tam jalapeño plant and the Tam ones are too much for me. Like no kidding one little slice in a big plate of spaghetti would still be enough. Just thought I'd share. Tidbits from out of town. Monday, July 09, 2007. I came home a little late today and decided to check my email before getting down to the business of cleaning up last week's mess after being gone for the weekend. almost as an afterthought i turned on All Things Considered. Just in time to hear a story about Adrienne Young. It was one of those fortuitous coincidences that made me feel that my life must. While browsing those sites i felt a tug in my center, a longing for these things to be. I heard the sam...

Tidbits from out of town. Saturday, June 24, 2006. Put another dime in the juke box, baby. I baked my first pie. what kind? Cherry, of course. fresh, tart cherries, picked by tim and i from the trees in our front yard. we didn't even know we had cherry trees. since we moved here in the fall all of the fruit was gone by the time we got here. Anyway, that was my latest domestic milestone. Posted by Amy at 9:19 PM. Monday, June 19, 2006. Posted by Amy at 7:56 AM. Friday, June 02, 2006. There's one factor we...

Tidbits from out of town. Tuesday, November 29, 2005. For ben and jeremy. I'm definitely going to read to my kids. i love bedtime stories. kayla will remember that back in our academy days when she introduced me to the joys of Winnie the Pooh i went across the hall every night to read one to her and lynette until we had read them all. those were good times. i tell ya, you're never too old. No kisses, please (or "besos, no, por favor"). What do you do with a kangaroo? The big, wide-mouthed frog. I exagger...
