Teacher Librarian: Communicate or die!?!
http://davidparkin.blogspot.com/2012/03/communicate-or-die.html
Thursday, 8 March 2012. The more I read about the future of libraries and schools and the direction of technology, the more I see that 'communication' is a key element. Whether through Web2.0 apps (Facebook, Twitter), communication (mobile phones, messaging, email), sharing knowledge and ideas or getting feedback from staff and students (clients) as to what they want; they all centre around communication. Teacher Librarian: The digital age
http://davidparkin.blogspot.com/2012/03/digital-age.html
Thursday, 1 March 2012. I have had an interesting meeting today with a colleague. We work together in a library and are looking at making changes to our library database called Oliver. The GMDs and other areas needed a good 'clean out'. As we looked at what categories we needed, we were able to remove many as they are now redundant to our school ie. microfilm. We had many interesting discussions as we thought about 3D hologram images, epubs and vodcasts. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Teacher Librarian: July 2011
http://davidparkin.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, 24 July 2011. Role of the Teacher Librarian. I started as a TL this year in a K-12 school. The three areas I see the role falling into are; 1) Teaching 2) IT specialist and 3) Support librarian (assistant, database administrator, displays etc). The three readings; Herring/Purcell/lamb and Jonhnson, though different, are not mutually exclusive. They seem to be saying similar things but have a different emphasis. Tuesday, 19 July 2011. Teacher Librarian: A post literate society
http://davidparkin.blogspot.com/2012/02/post-literate-society.html
Monday, 27 February 2012. A post literate society. Doug Johnson, in his article Libraries for a post-literate society. I think is on the ball. Not all schools have so far embrassed the new technologies that are currently on offer. Our school has recently adopted iPads for the senior (Years 11 and 12, soon to include 10) years, which has increased the use of digital resources and diminished the use of printed ones.
