First time in a desert and a visit from Mom. The two big events of the past couple of weeks have been San Pedro de Atacama (a desert in the north of Chile) and my mom and her friend Maggie coming to visit Santiago! We saw four different locations, which consisted of mostly beautiful desert, sand dunes and a couple of caves. We had a great dinner at a place called Adobe. The second day was my favorite, during which we went to Tebequinche, a salt flat, which was basically a huge white expanse of salt.

So much fun, so little time. So much has happened in the past few weeks and great things are coming up too. Here is an update:. Unfortunately, I had a cold for part of all that greatness, have had a lot of homework and I also had to say goodbye to a couple of friends from Germany that I met while traveling in Uruguay. I can’t believe that my exchange is over and that I am back home. I was really sad to leave my family, friends and boyfriend in Chile although I of course was happy to see my family and friends here. Relaxation before the semester begins. Tonight I am going to meet Louisa’s sister for the first time, tomorrow eat lunch with the whole family and organize my stuff for school on Sunday.
