Follow me on Twitter. Tom and Jo and Co. May 21, 2010. The Egg, A Symbol Of Life. This weeks Photo Friday theme was Symbol, which I thought was easy enough, so naturally I didnt think about it again until this morning. Typical. While scrambling some eggs for breakfast I inadvertently got the lyrics to the Beastie Boys song Egg Man. How completely.boring. Oh well, itll be easy. So I eat. Watch TV. I dink around the batcave attempting to do some organization. Watch TV. May 14, 2010. Not a lot of thought we...

Brent and Laura do the World!: May 2009
http://brentandlauraeurope.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Brent and Laura do the World! Monday, May 25, 2009. I have been in Canberra now for 4 months, wow! Brent and I have settled in well, though we are still waiting for our boxes to arrive. They have made it to Australia, but are still sitting somewhere awaiting final clearance from customs and quarantine. Hopefully it will arrive soon. A late evening shot and view from our balcony. It is actually quite interesting to me and I am looking forward to getting things done. There isn't too much to update on, I wo...

Brent and Laura do the World!: August 2010
http://brentandlauraeurope.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Brent and Laura do the World! Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Again, I procrastinate - been a couple months since updating yet again! We then spent a day and a half in San Francisco where I tried to eat as much sourdough as possible (still wasn't enough) and then got back on yet another plane to head back east to Boston. I was in Boston for yet another wedding, this one for a couple that got together in our Grad program. It was tons of fun and so hard to leave! I will also eventually post pictures.one day!

Memoirs of the Chinese Tutor: August 2008
http://mynameisabbynicole.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Memoirs of the Chinese Tutor. Saturday, August 30, 2008. The Hong Kong Experience. I have now been in China for a week and a half. Wow! What an adventure it has been. The adventure all started with packing. Yes, packing my bags. How does the airport expect a girl to pack for four months in two suitcases that have to weight less than 50 pounds? I don't know, but somehow I did it. I didn't get to bring everything I would have liked to, but oh well, I can't have everything. The hurricane didn't scare me or ...

Memoirs of the Chinese Tutor: November 2008
http://mynameisabbynicole.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Memoirs of the Chinese Tutor. Friday, November 21, 2008. We had the chance to get professional Chinese massages. It was great! The only bad part is that they pushed REALLY hard and the next day day I woke up sore. They also told me that I am not sleeping well and I have a bad stomach. Supposedly. They can tell by rubbing my feet, but what do they know? We also had a carnival for our kids. I had the kids dig their hands through a big bucket of green noodles to find prizes. They loved it!

This is my home away from home. All six of us American teachers have our own room. complete with our own bed, desk, washer and dryer and even squatter. Thursday, September 4, 2008. Bout an hour and a half and we enjoyed the little break of lugging our suitcases around. Food on the train and we were able to try ...

Brent and Laura do the World!: July 2009
http://brentandlauraeurope.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Brent and Laura do the World! Saturday, July 4, 2009. Aren't we a patriotic family - kitty and all! I was very disappointed that the embassy had nothing planned here for the 4th - but then again I'm not surprised because Canberra isn't that of a happening place. Next year we will have to go to Sydney, that's where the celebrations happen! We also had some baked beans and potato salad, mmm. The apple pie will be later tonight, yum! Brent ready to dig into the spread (still no table) and patriotic ribs!

Brent and Laura do the World!: March 2009
http://brentandlauraeurope.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Brent and Laura do the World! Thursday, March 26, 2009. I have been in Australia for two months now and my computer has been broken for most of it. Still waiting on it to be fixed, but I just discovered today that I can access this from work - I thought for sure it would be a blocked site! There won't be any pictures, but I guess I'll see who reads these things and doesn't just look at the pictures :). Since we applied for it outside of Australia though, we have to leave the country to pick it up. Lu...

Brent and Laura do the World!: Some pics
http://brentandlauraeurope.blogspot.com/2010/11/some-pics.html
Brent and Laura do the World! Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Just a few pictures of random stuff. I went up to Sydney a few weeks ago to see my Mum when she was over here (she came unexpectedly to visit her brother - my uncle - who has extremely advanced cancer). We stopped in an international candy store and I couldn't resist a bag of my all-time favorite jelly bellys - juicy pear! I was so excited and they were oh so good. The evening was a lot of fun and we met some interesting people as well.
