A bit of this 'n' that. Thursday, 22 November 2012. This is my Shabby Chic/Vintage ATC series swap for RSA. The background is a Kaisercraft and vintage paper torn and sponged using Tim Holtz distress inks in vintage photo and faded jeans. I have stamped in black stazon both the butterfly image and music notes, clear stamps by Kaisercraft. The butterfly stamp has then been stamped on cream CS, using a mix of stazon, saddle and stazon cherry red, cut and mounted using rolled glue dots, to give some depth.

A bit of this 'n' that. Friday, 19 October 2012. Fly Away : Monochromatic Purple ATC. Here is my submission for the RSA series swap for this month. The background is using the credit card technique, grape, lilac and white acrylic, swiped on gloss white cardstock. The image has been stamped using purple tombow on a Papererbag Studio "Addison" cling stamp. I have added my own Kaisercraft wings, coloured with tombow using a watercolour brush. I love to do a good practice run before the real thing, so decided I may as well do a few as giveaways. The background CS is a cream base that I have watercoloured over, in red and orange. The background is using a technique I stumbled across on an online search of art journals. I started mixing gold and cornflower blue acrylics with water, a very thin solution. I then painted this on in long wide blushstrokes. I splattered the wet acrylic with isopropyl alcohol and forced dried using a heat gun. This is a must try! I hope you like, Pete. The Graphics ...

A bit of this 'n' that. Monday, 14 May 2012. This is the first time I have attempted a canvas of this size in about 20years. It's a 50x60cm and a lot bigger than my normal ATC sized works. I have used acrylics for the background and the main image. The sides have been sponged out using black stazon and I have used a Kaisercraft buterfly selection to stamp on the background. The colours do look a bit washed out in the photo, the red is very deep in the background itself. This is for my mum for Mother's Day.

I have to admit I had an absolutely wonderful time and while there we met up with two sets of friends in Aix En Provence for a week. One lady had a birthday a couple of days after we returned to Oz and I was too jetlagged to be able to do anything for her in time. One uses it as a fund raiser, while the other gives it to farmers in drought - guess when things are tough going buying greeting cards goes down in terms of importance. Saturday, December 17, 2011. Tag 12 - final one! Well I made it this year! The entire twelve tags. It seemed that this tag I had most of the stuff that Tim used - although I fudged on the tissue paper background and flower bit - and decided to go with a ballet shape rather than a fragments - like Tim says use what you have. Tuesday, March 19, 2013. I don't normally make Easter cards, but there is one young man I like to send too. He's probably too old for that sort of thing by now, but hey isn't our job to embarrass them just a little bit? I got the idea from Pinterest. And stored it away for the right person. I adapted a little - the embossing folder is Cuttlebug Forest Branches, while the rabbit itself is from the spellbinders circle set and the bunny tail from Build a flower. Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Hard to believe that it's been a month since I've been here but then I do remember a very BUSY three weeks. Finally today has been my own and so I decided that the first card was going to be something I could relax and enjoy doing. I've been looking at the Feeling Sketchy Challenges. A few times - and entered once so here's my take on #64. The cameo is a cutout RAK. I have no girlie (daughter) influences in my sphere so my cards tend to be on the less flowery/ribbon side of things.
