The feeble-witted Sir Andrew tells the fool, Feste, ‘In sooth, thou wast in very gracious fooling last night, which thou spok’st of Pigrogromitus, of the Vapians passing the equinoctial of Queubus. ’Twas very good, i’faith. I sent thee sixpence for thy lemen, hadst it? Stanley Wells and Roger Warren. In th...

March 11, 2010 in Uncategorized. This is kind of a research blog. Though hopefully not as dull as that sounds. The idea is to post bits and pieces that might not make it into my current research project (aka Book 2) or other essays – offshoots, drafts, blind alleys, or just pretty pictures. Hopefully it will get me writing. (Have you noticed that I keep saying “hopefully”? PS The title is from John Fletcher’s. The Wild Goose Chase. Early Modern at the Beinecke. Posted December 22, 2011 by waytogohomesteader in Uncategorized. In order to keep myself from going insane today (I’m feeling under the weather and that’s a recipe for a very grouchy day here at the homestead), I might post outtakes of the day here. Here’s one: what damn fool bought all these wooden train whistles? 2 responses to this post. I hear ya...

polvo indescifrabile: L'Etang des Soeurs Osny

Friday, 7 August 2009. L'Etang des Soeurs Osny. That I nearly chose to write my undergraduate thesis on M-P and Cezanne, in order to get at what it was I wasn't getting. Walking into the second room of the Courtauld, though, not yet really properly tuned in to looking at pictures, this one grabbed hold of me before I'd had a chance to think about it. Much much more to be said on this, and much better, but as ever, the thesis calls. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Woolf on working for a living.

The time went, but all of a sudden it was evening, and since after several such experiences he had learned to stop dreading them on his way home, whole series of weeks began to skip, and passed away like a troubled half-sleep. Slowed down by a sense of hopelessness in all his decisions and. Robert Musil, The Man Without Qualities. Friday, 24 July 2009.
