IronManda: May 2012
http://ironmanda.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
When I was 8, I was always the last one picked for dodgeball. Now at 29, I'm training for my first Ironman. View my complete profile. Wednesday, May 30, 2012. This weekend was my final exam for Ironman training. I am happy to report I passed with flying colors. It all started Friday. Well, technically it started Thursday when I rested up for these big adventures. Me and Becki freezing after the climb to Prather. Who can change her own back tire? Sunday, my schedule called for a 3 hour run. I decided ...

Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Holy Land - Day 7. Unfortunately, after we got home, all of our Dead Sea photos and videos were accidentally deleted. Except for this one that LV took of his feet in the Dead Sea. I will say, it was an amazing experience floating in that water. So much fun! Hike to En Gedi. Looking out over the Dead Sea. It is prophesied in Ezekiel 47 that fisherman will be casting their nets into the Dead Sea from En Gedi, and it will be full of life. I have been sa...

Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil: April 2011
http://mudpencilsandtinfoil.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil. Saturday, April 23, 2011. We started a new tradition this year thanks to an idea I got from my friend, Darcie. Yesterday the boys and I walked down to the channel to gather sticks and rocks. What boy can resist walking through the water to get to the island with more rocks? The boys filled that bucket about half full! And then we had to figure out a way to haul it back up the levy. We took a break to attend the Good Friday service at church. LV set to work making a cross.

Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Holy Land - Day 6. Saying good-bye to our kibutz. An arena where Christians were fed to the lions. Columns in the theater. LV is sitting on the hopper in an ancient Roman latrine. There would have been water flowing beneath the marble slabs to carry the waste away. If you were a wealthy person in those days, your slave would go warm your marble slabs for you. Aren't you glad you know now? Shhhh Don't tell LV I put this picture on my blog. Simple temp...

Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil. Monday, January 28, 2013. Holy Land - Day 5. It has been quite some time since I posted photos from Israel. I think I had better get back at it! Tel Dan Nature Reserve. A lesson about the sources of the Jordan River. Nature trail - it was beautiful! Awaiting the next teaching. Tonye teaching at King Jeroboam's altar. D climbing into an idol spot. He missed the sign that said, "no climbing.". Getting the next 2 pictures was crazy! We were patient came away with a few.

Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil: May 2011
http://mudpencilsandtinfoil.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil. Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Easter (mostly in pictures). Saturday we dyed eggs. The boys wrote a name or attribute of Jesus on each egg. The orange one says, "knocked the Roman soldiers over." Yep. That's LM's. We went to church in the evening, just like most Saturdays. Sunday morning H had to be at all 4 services at church. I let the boys do a small egg hunt inside. Then outside to check the tomb. When H got home we did our Easter Walk. With a final stop at the empty tomb.

Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil: April 2012
http://mudpencilsandtinfoil.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. The other night I was complaining to Him, yet again, about how things were not the way I wanted them to be when I said it. God, I'm tired of this! I'm tired of trusting You! I stunned even myself. Because if I don't trust Him, who do I trust? Certainly not myself. I can't change things. Well. I can. But would it really be for the better? Not if I am doing it in my own strength and not according to His plan. And I will continue to trust Him. My Teenager...

Mud, Pencils, and Tin-Foil. Saturday, January 22, 2011. To the Bridge and Back. Friday, January 21, 2011. Pinewood Derby and Dyslexia. Now what do those 2 things have in common? I was struggling even more with my attitude after finding out that H had not gotten the boys' cars cut before he left on his mission trip to Mexico, so as of Tuesday morning, the day of check-in and weigh-in, my boys still had nice blocks of wood. H arrived home Monday night, spent Tuesday morning recovering, and finally. After a...
