Thursday, January 8, 2015. Red Stars at Night. Red Stars at Night. My personal quilting challenge for 2014 was to make a quilt for each one of my six grandchildren. Red Stars at Night was made for Matthew, a 25 year old bachelor who owns his own home. His living room colour scheme is black and white with red accents. Judy Laquidara's February Scrappy Challenge Block. Was perfect for this quilt. Here's a close-up of one of the blocks:. Red Stars at Night - block. Red Stars at Night - back. Size: 60" x 76".

Monday, March 30, 2015. I love making stamps. I now have several that I have made to print postcards. I'm experimenting with different materials to carve into, some are easier to handle than other but all are fun to do. These are some of my stamps:. Most of these postcards were printed and then stitched on fabric that I either dyed or painted with liquid dyes. Blue Jays on hand dyed, map and hand made paper. Lady slippers on hand dyed and hand painted fabric. Abstracts on black fabric and hand made paper.

Thursday, March 27, 2014. ART PROMPT - #7 - Week 2 – Use glue. New and improved - (I hope). Last week, I really was not happy with what was happening with the quilting – not only my thread choice but also my quilting itself. This is what it looked like last week: yuck! I like the two rows of quilting with my original thread, kind of acts as a little border. I'm a lot happier with the whole thing now. No binding because I think it will probably get cut up to use in other projects. See you next week,.

Today in Jen's Sewing Room. Keeping my sanity one project at a time. Saturday, January 5, 2013. Many people have the tv on when they sew - something about the drone keeps us company when we're doing the work. Through the years when I've been sewing, I listen to audiobooks. I've read biographies, self-help, novels. And lately, although I haven't been sewing, I've been listening. Audiobooks are great for long drives and tearing out drywall as well. I think I've "read" about 50 books since last spring. ...
