Ramblings and Running: March 2014
http://ragurun.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Runner. Archaeologist. Slacker. Tuesday, March 11, 2014. 2014 Twin Mountain Trudge. Last year, after my fifth consecutive Twin Mountain Trudge. I was gifted my five-year "Mountain Masochist" jacket and told myself, "That's enough." I then went ahead and registered for the race again this year. It's hard, nigh impossible, to fix stupid. Quite the scene for a race. Me: "Chris, you're going to want to take it easy at the start." Chris, above, clearly not following my advice. Devil's Loop is always tough....

Runner. Archaeologist. Slacker. Thursday, May 29, 2014. Grand Teton NP and an Easy Week. I took off Friday for a rendezvous with Elizabeth in Grand Teton National Park. While those mountains, as usual, were stunning, seeing her overshadowed the brilliant peaks. Every moment with her is amazing. I am forever gone over her. Gone over the moon. Gone head-over-heels. Gone, man, gone. Taggart Lake and Grand Teton. Sunset at Jenny Lake. Teewinot and Jenny Lake. Los osos grises near Jackson Lake. 24 miles, 4:07...

Life and Adventure on the Run. Race and Trip Reports. Coaching and Training Plans. Challenge for Charities 1/2 Marathon Training Plan. Sunday, November 29, 2015. One Hundred Miles of Reflections. What follows are my reflections and learnings from crewing and pacing for my girlfriend,. In her first 100 miler: the 2015. Pine to Palm 100. I may also be her running coach. Lots of miles means lots can go wrong (and probably will). Looking too serious at mile 28. If they’re anything worth striving for, y...

6 March 2014 / stageivhope. I haven’t written here in a long time. The thing is, though, we are creeping up on the one-year mark, which leaves me with a lot of emotions to sort through. It’s not a day I want to remember, but it’s a day I can’t forget, even if I wanted to. But I don’t want to forget. I won’t forget. Larr; Poop Strong Is Dead. Long Live Poop Strong. Mar 7 2014 9:52 AM. But the most important part is:. Mar 7 2014 11:10 AM. This makes me think of my husband without me. It breaks my heart.

Thank goodness for her. To 2014. And maybe a different name. Don't suppose I will be on the high plains anymore. Race to Robie Creek.

Runner. Archaeologist. Slacker. Thursday, September 4, 2014. End of Summer Update. The summer has rolled on quickly and now that I find myself near its end, I realize how much has happened in such a short amount of time. And so far, next summer is shaping up to be even busier. Ramblings and Running: Again to Carthage and the Race to Robie Creek
http://ragurun.blogspot.com/2015/04/again-to-carthage-and-race-to-robie.html
Runner. Archaeologist. Slacker. Thursday, April 23, 2015. Again to Carthage and the Race to Robie Creek. The thing that truly bothers me with social media is how people choose to portray themselves online. As one delves into Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, one finds a smorgasbord of running selfies, before-and-after pictures of fitness progress achieved through crash diets (juice cleanses are hogwash. First race in a long time. Again to Carthage. For my first Robie, and on six weeks training, I'm happy...

http://ragurun.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Runner. Archaeologist. Slacker. Monday, February 3, 2014. January and Snowy Range Snowshoe Races. Thus far, my quasi-resolution this year is still intact. I have run at least four miles everyday this year. While this has not led to a lot of mileage, right now I am more concerned with consistency. The mileage will come. Especially once the weather improves. In several months. January: 169 miles (20:48). Saturday saw the return of the Snowy Range Snowshoe Races. Start of the race. Photo: Lindsay Sweley.

One of the drawbacks of infrequent posting is that when one actually does post, there is quite a bit to cover. That being the case here, let's do this. Me and Mr. Schabron. Pretty lady enjoying a pretty evening view. Wonderful fall colors on display. Camp along the North Platte River. It just wouldn't be Silent Trails without some snow. While we were spared the new normal race day blizzard, we did not e...
