The Thompson Family: July 2011
http://thompsonnomads.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 12, 2011. 4th of July Fun. Daddy the 'camp director' had a fun filled weekend for us to celebrate the 4th! Friday night we went to Yards park for sprinkler playing, live music and a picnic. Every once in a while you find something in DC that isn't advertised to tourists, and it is so relaxing to be able to enjoy a little bit of DC with no crowds. This park has water sprayers and huge grassy lawns overlooking the river. Friday nights they have live music and no one is there! Usually they get...

Wednesday, November 27, 2013. It's Looking A Lot Like Christmas! Yes, our house is fully decorated for Christmas.before Thanksgiving. And I LOVE it! Caroline modeling a new Christmas outfit. She has about 10. It's our favorite time of the year! We changed the colors from red and gold to red and lime green. I'm in love! We do need a taller tree, though. Ours is 9 ft and our ceilings are 20ft, so I'm guessing a 12' will work better! Eric bought a 5' tree at Home Depot and we let the kids decorate it! Poste...

A boy with Fragile X Syndrome does not always try new things without some prompting and persuasion. Monday, September 2, 2013. I'm going to miss this view. Well, it was quite the summer. And I can't believe it's been almost 3 months since I've posted anything. Guess I spent a lot of time working on my tan! The biggest news for me is that at the end of June I was offered a job! I have been mostly okay with it, but here I am the night before the big day and I am scared spitless. Because while he is the...

A boy with Fragile X Syndrome does not always try new things without some prompting and persuasion. Monday, March 10, 2014. Way to go, little man! Wow, what a difference one person can make. Just over a month ago, I took Ian to see Dr. Mead who handles his medications. I expressed concerns about Ian's behavior at school and we discussed the possibility of making some changes in our routine and his dosage, etc. Since previous attempts to do this were not successful (disastrous is a better term! The only s...

The Thompson Family: September 2010
http://thompsonnomads.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 23, 2010. This is an old picture I just came across but shows a great rainy day activity or just a good way to cheer everyone up if anyone's fussy. They all three love the music. I'm very thankful to have a husband who is so musically inclined to teach them these things because I'm basically tone-deaf. Notice little Irby flipping through a Fisher-Price catalogue. They reel them in early, don't they? Needless to say, he's pretty excited about that. Hilarious. Friday, September 10, 2010.

Sunday, March 13, 2011. First Day of School. Irby's first day of school in DC! I walked in to pick him up last week to hear him say, "Quiero un bicho, por favor.gracias.ADIOS! I'd like a bug(sticker) please, thank you, BYE! I was totally shocked and it kind of made me feel like my 3 year old is a CIA operative. He is loving it. I'm not expecting him to come away fluent in Spanish, but I love that his mind is being stretched in this different way. Spring come quickly, we are growing very weary of the cold!

The Turner Family: January 2009

Tuesday, January 6, 2009. Merry Christmas from all those Chambley children! As you can see, our baby boy was so excited about Christmas! Alas, despite everyone buying Brantley many wonderful presents, in the end the paper was his favorite toy. I wish Brantley had a bibb that big; there might be a chance that we kept him semi-clean during feedin' time. Brantley has recently discovered that it is a joy to produce a post-prandial hotmess. However, his day only goes until about 9:30 before needed a big nap.
