Upon completion, each client receives a hand written letter describing why I designed the painting as I did and what I thought about as I painted it. I find this to be very important. I want the client to have a full understanding of every aspect of the finished piece. Also, this creates a story that can be attached to the painting for further generations to feel connected to the painting. Pricing for Commissioned Portrait. Single person, tonal background, shoulder length portrait: $4000. Single person, full-length portrait: $5000. Each additional person included in portrait: Add 75% per person. For a more detailed background(as in a specific location) price will vary according to complexity. Size will vary according to design and need of client but will be in the ballpark of 12 x 20 up to 32 x 40. If a larger painting is desired, price will increase according to size.

Landscapes – The Kjarval Series. In April of 2011, I discovered the paintings of Johannes S. Kjarval while on a vacation in Reykjavik, Iceland. Kjarval’s paintings have a poetic and emotional approach to paint application, color layering and composition. The landscape paintings he created of the lava fields of Iceland inspired me to look at the landscape around me in Wyoming and push myself further emotionally and technically.
