http://runningcallendar.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Run For Water 10K. Thursday, April 18, 2013. 2013 Update - Pre Sun Run. It's hard to believe my last post was almost a year ago! Running has been going well: no major setbacks, lots of decent training, and a few personal bests along the way. The first 4 months of each year are always busy with the Island Race Series. And the TC10K. This year I decided to add a race that I've never done before: the Sun Run. Last fall I read a book called Running With The Buffaloes. Each week follows a basic format of 4 ha...

http://runningcallendar.blogspot.com/2013/05/abbotsford-run-for-water-10k.html
Run For Water 10K. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Abbotsford Run For Water 10K, 2013. I was over in Vancouver last weekend (May 26th) for the Abbotsford Run For Water. 10K race. There is also a 5K, Half and Full Marathon as well, which attracted almost 5000 runners to come out and race in the rain. The forecast was decent, but ironically it was very very wet. plenty of water for everyone! We had a nice chat, and joked around with another runner Jin (on the left in the USA tank top) who turned out to be a friend ...

Running Callendar: TCK10K, 2014
http://runningcallendar.blogspot.com/2014/07/tck10k.html
Run For Water 10K. Thursday, July 24, 2014. Next up was the TC10K on April 27th which I was running for the 12th straight year. The first 4 were all around 42:30-43:00 minutes, the next 4 were all between 37:40-38:33, and the 3 most recent were 36:09, 36:07, and 36:15. So by that logic a 36:0x was probably in the cards? Some of my crazy friends were attempting a double race - first the TC10K then 20 minutes after finishing the new Half Marathon. No thanks :). The following week I ran the BMO 8K.

Run For Water 10K. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. It's been ages since I've posted, oops. Anyways, I'm excited about the TC10K. This coming weekend. I jogged the course today after work with my new Garmin 410. Another blog post hopefully) to check out the course, the elevation, etc. Obviously the last 5km are the same as previous years, but the first 5km are different. Here's a screenshot I made from the garmin workout:. The original garmin workout is also public if you want to see it:. Anyway, time to make a ...

Running Callendar: November 2013
http://runningcallendar.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Run For Water 10K. Friday, November 15, 2013. Boundary Bay Marathon, 2013. It was 8:15am. 15 minutes until the start of the race. I put in my earbuds and headed out for one last warmup jog. The catchy piano intro started playing from Hall Of Fame. You can be the greatest, you can be the best. You can be the King Kong banging on your chest.". You can go the distance. You can run the mile (or 26 miles). You can run straight through hell with a smile. You could be the hero. You could get the gold. My plan h...

Running Callendar: June 2011
http://runningcallendar.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Run For Water 10K. Monday, June 27, 2011. I've now run three marathons - the Royal Victoria Marathon in 2007, the North Olympic Discovery Marathon in 2011, and most recently the Boston Marathon in 2012. I kept very detailed logs about my training for each one, so here is the comparison. In each case I did 5 months of focused training. So a lot of the numbers displayed below are the totals for the 5 months leading up to the race. 1288 km (* no GPS). 7 (4 km, 6 km, 8 km, 10 km, half). Tuesday, June 7, 2011.

Running Callendar: BMO 8K, 2014
http://runningcallendar.blogspot.com/2014/07/bmo-8k.html
Run For Water 10K. Thursday, July 24, 2014. BMO 8K, 2014. I decided to head over to Vancouver on May 3rd to do the BMO 8K. Around Stanley Park. I had never done any of the BMO races (8K/Half/Full), and this year I had 3 friends running the half and 2 doing the full so it seemed like a good race to do. I will also admit that when I saw last year's winning time in the 8K was 28:30 I had extra incentive to do it seeing that I had just run 28:32 the week before (as part of the TC10K. At the start line there ...
