I'm spending six months in Thailand just outside of Bangkok working with children who have disabilities. These are some of my thoughts and experiences. Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Well, still no pics. I'm off to Laos tomorrow to get a visa. The Cambodian trip fell through and now we'll have to go stay in Laos for a night and get the proper visa. Her name is Meg and she’s a 33 year old teacher from England who worked teaching the disabled there. I’m excited for all the new volunteers to get here.

Exhibit 1: Manual Labor - I noticed I hadn't seen a couple of the kids one day, and when I asked where they had been I was told that their grade had been moving bricks all day for a wall that was being built. Interesting. Exhibit 2: Alcohol Storage in School - The other day I walked into my classroom to a box with about 8 bottles of whiskey in it.
