Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Saturday, 17 May 2014. Carrying on from our. Apparently, if you believe in legends, there are two immortal fish in this tarn! It poured down on the walk in but the weather soon cleared up enough to dry us off! Here is Holly and I at the stunning Bowscale Tarn - didn't see any fish immortal or not! The cloud obliterated most of the views from the summit. On our way back down, the pic below shows the view over towards High Pike where we walked the day before. Here is a r...

Two Pairs of Boots ............. and four paws!: November 2012
http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Friday, 23 November 2012. Aber Falls, Carneddau Ponies and Moel Wnion. Its a lovely walk down to the big waterfall, and it could be heard some distance off, and as we got under it, it was like standing in the shower. A bit further down the path we came across the first of many Carneddau ponies that we would see on the walk, they are beautiful rugged ponies, that are normally quite shy, but this group were quite tame, and even followed us as we left them. To Hatch a Crow.

Two Pairs of Boots ............. and four paws!: February 2013
http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Wednesday, 27 February 2013. Crimpiau, Craig Wen and Creigiau Gleision. Moel Siabod with the cold early morning mist clinging to it as we drive into Capel Curig. Looking back to Capel Curig as we ascend Crimpiau. Sharons smiles soon disappeared as we headed up to the clag! A forced smile as we can see not a lot from the top of Crimpiau. Tryfan appears out of the gloom as we descend before climbing Craig Wen. Looked magical over on Tryfan. The dam wall of Llyn Cowlyd.

Running to stand still | The (re)Idahoan
https://reidahoan.wordpress.com/2014/07/30/running-still
Musings on returning to my home state. Running to stand still. July 30, 2014. You can’t run away. You can only run towards something. That’s a lesson I’m still learning. Of course, you can run away from things as part of a fight-or-flight response. You can run away from bears, bees and bad guys. But that’s not what I’m talking about. But I can run. Running is the best when it stops feeling like running. Have you ever seen a toddler run? That kind of running — that kind of life — escapes most ...Regrets a...

Time to run again | The (re)Idahoan
https://reidahoan.wordpress.com/2014/04/06/time-to-run-again
Musings on returning to my home state. Time to run again. April 6, 2014. My time in running purgatory has ended. Two years of illness, depression, divorce and self-pity are officially behind me. Excuses are over. Running, which has been my salvation so many times, has remained my steadfast companion even when I tried so hard to abandon it through sloth and neglect. I looked back at some of my running logs. That’s a long story, and I’m not telling it here. At least not right now. IR...For me, there hav...

Hood to Coast XVI — A New Beginning | The (re)Idahoan

Musings on returning to my home state. Hood to Coast XVI — A New Beginning. August 15, 2014. Tags: hood to coast. I just completed a modified version of what was once an annual ritual: my pre- Hood to Coast. Triple. Three workouts in 24 hours. I had to accommodate a workday, so I wasn’t able to run three times, but I ran a hard 10K last evening, got up early for an 8-mile run to the bus stop, then rode my bike 14 miles home from work. (And then I mowed the lawn for good measure.). Two years ago, I had wo...

Not Letting Go | The (re)Idahoan

Musings on returning to my home state. July 30, 2014. Tags: #oregon #idaho #life. I may need to re-think the title of this blog. I am beginning to wonder if I ever was an Idahoan to begin with, and whether I can “re” become something I never was. But I wasn’t ever really part of life there. But I never felt like I belonged. I never wanted to be a part of Twin Falls. Nothing about it appealed to me, even when I returned after college to a job that was essentially a default fall-back position. Address neve...

Two Pairs of Boots ............. and four paws!: December 2012
http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Saturday, 29 December 2012. Earlier this month I drove down to The Rob Piercy gallery in Porthmadog to pick up Sharon's Christmas present, there is a story behind it which I wont repeat here, but if you are interested it is on Sharon's art blog HERE. But I had the camera with me, got some great shots some of which are below, but they have stayed hidden until now as I didn't want her knowing where I had been! Yr Aran across Llyn Gwynant. Moel Hebog across Llyn Gwynant.
