The Tokyo Connection

Tuesday, January 8. How to perform a meltdown, how to restart a life: the second weekend in the islands. I guess that you can take the boy out of the island, but you can never take the island out of the boy (insert cf). The second weekend back home was spent with friends from college days. A quick two-hour bus ride south of Manila brought us to Puerto Galera. Where over the weekend we owned a boat, and a few unmanned islands. The sea and the skies were just gorgeous as usual, and everything felt great.

The Tokyo Connection: Arrived

http://tokyoconnection.blogspot.com/2008/09/arrived.html

Tuesday, September 30. Today, Tokyo bleeds white. The city is cold. Some mornings you remember because you wake up with a thud. This time though, you will remember because nothing in your life is colder than this. About a week ago, while I was walking alone along the academic oval inside UP, basking the last strays of tropical sunshine, I thought about how'd Tokyo feel like when it will finally breath behind my shoulder. It's this. As cold as the nose of the cat. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Tokyo Connection: Tokyo Tower

http://tokyoconnection.blogspot.com/2009/07/tokyo-tower.html

Monday, September 21. This is the second part. The first part is here. Tokyo Tower from afar looks so imposing. Like a huge candle on top of a cake! More so when it's right infront of you. This time though, it feels a little overwhelming, like a big robot is staring right back at you, and you are a bubble gum with two wide eyes staring back. They say that one can see the whole city from the tower's deck. Possibly, but it was too dark that time that I wanna go back on daylight. My name is マイケル.

The Tokyo Connection: September 2011

http://tokyoconnection.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 27. Like the fading smell of a perfume, you put all these beautiful emotions on my wrists,. Everyday that I walk around these semi-autumnal days, where clouds are light,. The breeze with the tiniest hint of a passing summer, I realize that I already will miss you,. For the specific reasons that only my heart can identify in the longer days of the eventual break-up. Bon Iver plays, For Emma. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My name is マイケル. This blog is a string of personal notes.

The Tokyo Connection: September 2012

http://tokyoconnection.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 19. This year’s summer is particularly arduous- - I had to move to Nagoya last June and had to break all that is routine in Tokyo. It was just a hot mess really, but thanks to so many people who were always welcoming, helpful, loving and very kind. The stay was memorable, something I can make a good sigh for, now that it's over. Subtleday: December 2010

http://subtleday.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 16, 2010. Dissected and diluted memories. Remember the time when i told you about my faulty ex-holga? He managed to leave his very last imprints on the film. I'm pretty impressed and he shall stay in my cabinet for now. I'll promise to strike out the thought of sending him to the thief market. And how have you been? Are you now pruning your plant? Or feeding your cat? Or are you feeling lost under the expanse of tonight's darkened sky? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 非寫不可,不寫會死, 李欣頻.

Friday, May 27, 2011. On a night like this. Saturday, May 21, 2011. Singapore Biennale 2011 (in biased fashion II). Changing facades of thailand. A massive collection of local newspapers, everywhere! Somewhere in the old kallang airport lays a forsaken shutterbug's paradise. feel like a child letting loose in the wilderness amongst concrete jungle. Even the toastbox looked incredibly adorable. But we missed the merlion hotel! Thursday, May 19, 2011. Singapore Biennale 2011 (in biased fashion I). Sadly, i...
