Welcome To My Rebellious Kingdom
http://arablady.blogspot.com/2010/08/she-thinks-i-would-steal-her-boyfriend.html
Welcome To My Rebellious Kingdom. 31 August, 2010. She thinks I would steal her boyfriend! One of the reasons I don’t believe in true friendship between girls is the unbearable rages of jealousy among chicks. Lately, I had enough from my friend's intolerable jealousy. She trurly thinks I would steal him from her! She never misses a chance to TEASE ME DELIBERATELY and ON PURPOSE! It makes me feel sick! She used to CRY and FIGHT with her boyfriend when he mentions my name! Posted by Arab Lady. Tue Aug 31, ...

Welcome To My Rebellious Kingdom: Shall History Forgive Us!
http://arablady.blogspot.com/2009/01/shall-history-forgive-us.html
Welcome To My Rebellious Kingdom. Shall History Forgive Us! 11 January, 2009. I feel helpless in the light of what is going in Palestine. The holocaust is still going on and the international community is helpless too. Hundreds of thousands Protested worldwide to condemn the barbaric cruel war but the screams fall on deaf ears! What a memorable day in history when the president of Venezuela kicked out the Israeli ambassador to protest against the country's assault on Gaza! I wish if I could have time to ...

Welcome To My Rebellious Kingdom: Torturing Gays in Iraq
http://arablady.blogspot.com/2009/04/torturing-gays-in-iraq.html
Welcome To My Rebellious Kingdom. Torturing Gays in Iraq. 21 April, 2009. I’m not here to defend gays but I’m writing this post to express my disgust of those who appoint them selves as Gods on Earth to spread morality and cleanse people’s sins in the most cruel, inhumane, and barbaric way. For Arabic speakers, you can check out this. It has been reported that they use very strong “ Iranian Glue” to close their butts! They are just teenagers! Beings are turning into monsters! Posted by Arab Lady. Also yo...

Dispatches from Amman: Night(s) in Tunisia
http://fulbright-jo.blogspot.com/2008/06/nights-in-tunisia.html
A Fulbrighter in Jordan. Friday, June 6, 2008. I am reluctant to go into heavy detail about the conference (mostly because it was so long ago, whoops), but here are some take-away thoughts:. The people your US tax dollars have sent over here are brilliant and intellectually/culturally diverse. Friendships made over weekend conferences have an amazing ability to endure beyond their contextual limits (more on that in the next post as well). Thanks Tunis, thanks Fulbright. But note to self, learn French.

Dispatches from Amman: Syria
http://fulbright-jo.blogspot.com/2008/07/syria.html
A Fulbrighter in Jordan. Sunday, July 6, 2008. I'm obliging a request to make the text shweyyah. Bigger- although it no longer matches my microscopic handwriting. Aware that my 6 month visa to Syria was set to expire, I split a serveece. With three friends for about 5 days in and outside of Damascus. Syria will always be synonymous with hot in my mind. My previous stay in As-Sham. Damascus shopkeep (it was hot) and Glassblowers at work. You just can't make this stuff up. Aleppo has an (even older) Old Ci...

Dispatches from Amman: 'Weird News' Update
http://fulbright-jo.blogspot.com/2008/03/weird-news-update.html
A Fulbrighter in Jordan. Monday, March 24, 2008. This is an even stranger coincidence than the recent coffee culture repetitions in the press. I first started the 'Weird News' series last December with this post. After I came across an letter to the editor bemoaning the 'immoral' trend of young Jordanians sagging their baggy pants. That first piece I discounted as the marginal rantings of an out-of-touch member of the older generation in Jordan. Unfortunately, this more recent editorial [Arabic]. As a Jo...

Dispatches from Amman: Ikhwan
http://fulbright-jo.blogspot.com/2008/05/ikhwan.html
A Fulbrighter in Jordan. Wednesday, May 7, 2008. Despite this trip occurring almost two months ago, it's probably an important post in the travel/research/ramblings blog this has become.]. First off, having someone come visit you in the Middle East is a blast. You get to play tour guide, make practical use of language skills, and enjoy a short vacation yourself. Having that person be your older brother is just an added bonus. From the races) for a 4 hr. hike. The descent down into the wadi. Not virgins) ...

my occupied territory: October 2005
http://myoccupation.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
October 22, 2005. The US says *immediate* action should be taken after the. UN releases its report. On the assassination of former Lebanese PM Hariri. Let's get the SC together, get out our draft resolution for sanctions cuz some arab country did something BAD, and let's hit 'em where it hurts most! Yes, syria should be held accountable, and lebanon deserves answers. but where does the US come in? Are they like the godparents of the lebanese people? Since when does the US have lebanon's interests in mind?
