The Kiers: July 2009
http://thekiers.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 27, 2009. Nathan was happy to win our first game of Lord of the Rings Risk. We had a great 4th of July. Here's Roger finishing Dollars for Scholars 5k. After the race, we watched the annual parade. If you missed it, I think Nathan took a picture of almost everything in it, so you can see it on our computer! Hannah loved it all, but here's her favorite:. Hannah had fun with her cousin Kylan and Kylan's cousin! Two princesses and their castle. On July 11, while the boys hiked 10 miles roundtrip.

The Kiers: Soccer
http://thekiers.blogspot.com/2010/07/soccer.html
Friday, July 30, 2010. We finished up another soccer season last night. Roger did a great job coaching 18(! 9-12-year-old boys, including many who had never played soccer before but now love it! Alan played goalie and forward most games. It was fun to watch him, because he was very focused and energetic on the field. Nathan was a great defender! He was very aggressive and determined to stop opponents from getting past him. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 4th of July Weekend. To Africa and Beyond.

The Kiers: April 2010
http://thekiers.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 29, 2010. In February, we went to Hawaii for my cousin Sara's wedding. Roger played the guitar, and my mom and I sang "Deeply in Love.". It was a BEAUTIFUL wedding! The bride and groom. The food was delicious! Many kinds of wonderful Hawaiian foods were served! The reception was also amazing. This group performed many different dances in many beautiful costumes. There was even a surprise from a Dutch friend at the reception! Sorry the video is so dark. My family after the wedding. We were...

The Kiers: June 2010
http://thekiers.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 12, 2010. Jessica and I ran our first 5k today! We weren't quite sure what to expect, and running in a race is certainly different than running on our own. We are both excited to run again, but maybe not Sound to Narrows! Most of it was uphill, and we were not prepared for that. Still, I did better than I expected, and Jessica only beat me by a little. :) Lindsay and Roger ran the 12k and both beat last year's time, so that was great! It was Lindsay 10th time running it, and Roger's second.

The Kiers: August 2009
http://thekiers.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Even though we weren't able to see Alan and Nathan on their 12th birthday (they were having a great time at Cadet Camp), we still had many opportunities to celebrate! The first celebration was with Beppe and Pake on July 21, after A and N's last soccer game. The second celebration was on July 30 with a few of their friends from the neighborhood. Happy 12th Birthday, Nathan and Alan! And a ratfish and lots of flounder. They took home the flounder for dinner! George's descendant...

The Kiers: February 2011
http://thekiers.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 19, 2011. This past fall brought some changes for our family. Alan and Nathan started middle school. They seem to be enjoying it so far. They have great teachers, and much less homework than they had in elementary school. Hannah started Kindergarten. After a bit of a rough start (a few injuries and missing me a lot), she's doing well now. She has lots of good friends and loves her teacher. Roger ran his first marathon this fall! Buddy goes a little crazy after my longer days at work, a...

thomas washington: June 2009
http://tomdykstra.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 23, 2009. My sister Andrea came to visit this past weekend from Maryland. We had a great time! We whale-watched, went to Hurricane Ridge, took a ferry to Whidbey Island, went through Deception Pass, walked around Seattle, and then chilled in Olympia for a few days. I'd never been whale watching, on a ferry around here, or at Deception Pass, so those were good times. After seeing about 4 orcas, we grabbed lunch in Friday Harbor:. Above the clouds on the way up to Hurricane Ridge:.
