Have you got the time? Thursday, October 09, 2014. Waking up is so hard to do. So, last night, I listened to an audio titled Miracle Morning. And because it was the last thing I happened to do, it was ringing in my ear all night, so to speak. I woke up late, almost missing my son going to school. There is never enough sleep in my night for me, yet this morning a lingering thought was following me, unsettling me. So, from tomorrow, I will succumb to my guilt and wake up at 5:00 am. Have you got the time? Monday, July 09, 2007. I see my life running before my eyes. I see myself in mombasa, 1986. A majestic sea-view mansion. Draped in hot weather. Big windows are open. But no curious breeze enters. And the lapping sea. Blinking back at the stars. Brightening the dark calm sky. It is 4 am. My father is awake. He is making me tea. I press my uniform. For the kenya airways pick-up bus. A 5 am shift. At white beaches reach. Where food tastes like food. Dad, always there.
