The Curtis Family: July 2015
http://carisasblog.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
A Brooklyn Family in the South. Monday, July 27, 2015. We wanted to get to know our new home state a little more so we went to Edisto Beach on Edisto Island this year for vacation. It felt like we were setting up camp in the jungle with all the vines and Spanish moss hanging from trees and the humidity and heat and bugs! It was near 100 degrees most of the days we were there. Day at the beach. Picnic at the beach. We visited the Serpentarium. Someone turn me over! A famous, fake tree trunk. Once we got t...

A Brooklyn Family in the South. Monday, September 22, 2014. August 2014 Part 3- VW show and Chicago trip. The weekend after we returned from Maine, we took the ferry to Governor's Island to go to the VW show. Our friends, Dan and Stephanie, got married on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. They asked Paul to perform the wedding so we all drove to Chicago. One the way we stopped in Pittsburgh for the night and went to a preseason Steeler's game. The next day we drove to Chicago. Just like NYC traffic.

The Curtis Family: June 2016-Part 2
http://carisasblog.blogspot.com/2016/06/june-2016-part-2.html
A Brooklyn Family in the South. Monday, June 27, 2016. Jae started working mid-June for a guy at church who owns a delivery company. This is what Jae looked like when he came home from his first day of work: dirty, hot and tired. It's good for him! We're hoping he will get in at least 3 full days a week this summer. We got the kayak turned right side up and one of the guys towed it to the boat dock (which seemed really far away paddling against the wind! Getting ready to go. Finding Him to Find Me.

The Curtis Family: October 2015
http://carisasblog.blogspot.com/2015_10_01_archive.html
A Brooklyn Family in the South. Sunday, October 11, 2015. Our weekend in Knoxville was really nice. Jae got to check out Johnson University and visit with his friend, Brandon (who baptized him). And we got to visit with John and Tammie Weatherly. And EAT! Tammie made so much delicious food. We were very spoiled. On Saturday we checked out downtown Knoxville. Hiking at Ijams Nature Center, along the TN River. Thursday, October 8, 2015. I thought I'd do a "Before and After" post. The previous owner had a g...

The Curtis Family: February 2016
http://carisasblog.blogspot.com/2016/06/february-2016.html
A Brooklyn Family in the South. Monday, June 27, 2016. Daniel and I went to Winter Jam in downtown Greenville. It was a "wait in line and you get in when you get in and get a seat wherever you can" concert. That was pretty crazy. We waited in line for a few hours and ended up being in the top seats. We didn't know we were going to a political rally. Ted Cruz. And then Ben Carson had to have his say. For King and Country. It was fun, but next time I think I want to buy tickets with assigned seats!

A Brooklyn Family in the South. Monday, June 27, 2016. June 2016-Part one-NYC vacation. The day after school got out we drove to Brooklyn for our vacation. Dan and Stephanie let us stay at their apartment. They were in the process of moving apartments and had 2 for the month of June so we stayed in their old apt. Unfortunately, Dan's grandmother died right before we got there and Dan and Stephanie had to fly out early Sat. morning for the funeral. We got to go to the very top! The weather was very chilly...

The Curtis Family: September 2015
http://carisasblog.blogspot.com/2015_09_01_archive.html
A Brooklyn Family in the South. Sunday, September 27, 2015. Celebrating with the cousins. Nana and Poppaw came to visit over Labor Day for a few days. We all went to an Apple orchard, picked some apples, had lunch and had some cider and apple goodies. I really need to take some more pictures of the house now that we're moved in. But I did get a few of the living room one day. Hopefully we'll get some pictures on the wall behind the couch soon and some throw pillows made. Jae attended camp this summer at ...

Ramblings: Really Delicious Chicken
http://matvann37.blogspot.com/2012/07/really-delicious-chicken.html
Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Did you hear that the Chick-fil-A cows hate gay people? They not only want to encourage the murder of countless chickens.they also want to prevent loving same-sex couples from enjoying the 'rights' of marriage! Somaybe sarcasm isn't welcome in this subject, but it's pretty much how I roll. If you haven't heard, in a recent interview. The president of Chick-fil-A discussed their WinShape. That having one of the franchises in town would be an "insult" to the city. Would anybody ca...

Ramblings: Full Heart
http://matvann37.blogspot.com/2012/07/full-heart.html
Thursday, July 19, 2012. Recently (maybe the past few years), there's been a push for those of us that follow Christ to pray for a 'heart that breaks for the things that break the heart of God.' Don't know if this phrase started with Hillsong United. Or if it started somewhere else and Hillsong pulled it in for their song Hosanna. Watch the video HERE. Either way, it's a pretty awesome idea (or maybe ideal).but I'm not really sure it's practical. I never really thought about this until this morning.
