Tom and Ginnie Reynolds. Sabang, Philippines 2007. There are many places to dive in the Philippines, and most are relatively inexpensive. We chose one of the least expensive and easiest to get to, Sabang. The area is typically called Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro. Mindoro is the island West of Luzon. Puerto Galera is a one-hour boat ride from Batangas on Luzon. Batangas is a two-hour car ride from the main airport in Manila. We are scheduled to repeat this trip in August 2009.

Tom and Ginnie Reynolds. Tom Reynolds uses a Nikon D-300 dSLR camera. Tom also uses a Nikon D-200 dSLR camera in an Ikelite underwater case. Again, all camera controls are available. The Ikelite Ds-125 strobes(s) are fired using standard Ikelite iTTL. In addition to the above macro lenses, the D-200/Ikelite is also capable of wide-angle using a Nikkor 12/24 lens in an 8 dome port.

Tom, who hated snorkeling, decided to get scuba certified. Soon the couple transitioned from backpacking to scuba diving. This is a slideshow of photographs that we took in Beqa Lagoon, Fiji in August 2010. We stayed at Lalati Resort. Temperature was 77F (25C) with visibility between 100' (30M) and 70' (20M) at most sites. Diving locations depended on the current. For photography we specifide low current sometimes requireing that the dive boat search several locations before finding suitable conditions. Fortunately the dive boat was fast. Finally you can view it on Youtube.

Women are the gardeners in PNG. The backdrop of this picture is the open ocean. The largest in the pigeon family, the Royal Crown, is the most beautiful as well as the dumbest, so we're told. Madang Resort grounds. Isn't this a great picture of Donna? Being 6 years old and having your own boat is commonplace on the coast.
