Our trip back home. Thursday, 5 November 2009. Beached As in Zimbabwe. When we joined our tour we hadn’t expected a detour into Zimbabwe but when it’s just the other side of the lake then why not? Sorry Mum, but we came out alive so hope it’s OK). Our two days on the houseboats was spent cruising, swimming (in the lake not in our minature pool! Game driving by boat, drinking, fishing, drinking, and to lighten things up dressing up in some random outfits that we’d bought in Malawi for about $1 each!

Our trip back home. Tuesday, 3 November 2009. South Luangwa National Park. This was to be our only national park in. And our second to last one, so we decided to go both a morning and night game drive. The camping ground we were staying at was really lovely – the bar looked out onto a large river bed below with plenty of crocs and hippos to be seen. Our trip back home. Monday, 28 September 2009. On the road in Africa…. Since our last blog entry we’ve spent quite a bit of time on the road. We have crossed from Kenya into Uganda and now into Rwanda. We now have 15 on board the truck, with two more kiwi couples joining in Uganda along with an American, a Brit and an Aussie. Our trip back home. Thursday, 19 November 2009. Flying visit - Goodbye London (and Beard! We've already said goodbye to London a few times on this trip, so we are getting pretty good at it! We 'popped' in on London yet again as for some crazy reason it's cheaper to get from South Africa to Thailand via Dubai, London and KL! So we had three days of which most time was again spent unpacking and packing (and spent buying a suitcase so Ev and Amanda can lug our excess baggage home at xmas - thanks guys!

Thursday, September 24. The next day we spent most of our time bussing to Agrigento. Although from our map it appeared that there was a direct road of some 100k's we had a 6 hour bus ride back up to Catania and through the interior of the island. Monday, August 31. Indian High Commission in NZ much friendlier than the one in London. Sunday, August 31. It was really good to catch up. For the long weekend, the three of us headed off to the Cotswols where we stayed in a B&B, toured some of the scenic towns and did some rural walks.
