Later on we stopped at a Forest Service campground with a stream running through it. This could be taken almost anywhere and New Mexico would assuredly not be my first guess as to the state where it was taken. We crossed Evan’s Pass. Monday, July 13, 2015. Albuquerque to Silver City. We drove through the Very Large Array Radio Telescope. This consists of 27 parabolic antennas in a Y array. Saturday, July 11, 2015. You can drive from Santa Fe to Albuquerque on I-25 in slightly over an hour. We chose to drive rt 14, the Turquoise Trail scenic byway. We made a few stops, took a few photos and were able to make that drive in around 7 hours. Notice the detail in the wings of these birds. Kevin designed this as a traveling exhibit which will be shown in several US cities and even internationally. It will be packed up and relocated this autumn. Thanks for the great photos! Wednesday, July 8, 2015. We started the day by taking a local bus tour that went out to the Taos Pueblo and San Francisco de Asis church. The Taos Pueblo is believed to have been constructed on it’s current site between 1000 and 1500. It is the oldest continuously occupied city site in the country. The central area is the permanent home of 50 to 100 tribal members. Those living in the pueblo practice the old ways and these buildings are without electricity or running water. Albuquerque to Silver City.

This year there seems to be a smoky haze east of here that may be from the fires. That may have been why the moon is has a golden cast to it.and it came up near sunset too. Tuesday, August 12, 2014. The yucca is the Mojave Yucca that grows in the American south west. Back in 06 we bought a bucket with three small plants and put them in the ground. I took some photos and realized that my polarizing filter was preventing the rainbow to be photographed. Saturday, June 29, 2013. My husband and I met when my husband came down to see his sister after Uncle Tiny was killed. She was Uncle Tiny's wife, Penny. It took over a year for Penny to loose everything and after we had our first child we took Uncle Tiny's youngest son to raise. Later we adopted him. The older boys went up to my Aunt Grace and her husband in Washington state. Lots of years have gone by since then. It was nice to see his marker and to take the photo but sad too.
