A Model for a Humanist Puja. In February 2014 WYTN, a creative network in Leeds, invited artists of all persuasions to apply to be part of NLab. The opportunity to create work that would be an integral part of a live art/ performative event brought me to the group and ultimately I set about producing sculptural structures that could also carry the resulting artworks from the collaborations. This was partly inspired by Frederick Kiesler's work from the 1920's and the ideas behind his Leger und Trager.

A Model for a Humanist Puja. These objects act to extend the narrative and dialogue of the art-object-tools. They are pieces that have themselves been created using the Urban Bodger. A Model for a Humanist Puja. The concept of ‘escape’ particularly that as articulated by Zygmunt Bauman united these themes and lead me to consider the use of provisional and temporary construction methods as a way of articulating our sense of uncertainty in a globalised pan-capitalist present. I continue to believe that, materially, the art works need to ‘find a means of insertion into the innumerable flows of production’ by exploiting readily available or found materials. A Model for a Humanist Puja. Practice-based Contemporary Fine Art PhD at the University of Leeds. Recipient of WRoCAH Studentship. 2014-. University of Leeds 2011 -2013. Until starting the MFA in 2011 the main focus for my work had been in the design of contemporary furniture, product and commercial interiors. Prior to this I spent five years manufacturing my furniture designs and exhibiting this work alongside a number of other designer/makers including Ron Arad and Fred Baier.
