View From The Porch. Books Bikes. Boomsticks. ".it's love and darkness and my sidearm.". Friday, May 21, 2010. In the comments section of this post. There was a bit of discussion about dry-firing. One of the participants, Og, expanded on his views on his own blog:. In comments at Tams, some knucklehead mentions that he habitually dry-fires his firearms. Let me now confess that I am one of those knuckleheads. The ONLY thing I wouldnt recommend dry-firing is anything rim-fire (22 cal), unless you have a de...

UPDATE on Lib Lawyer shooting IN HIS OWN WORDS. Forget all the banter of 144 comments on the blog, (tempest in teapot as usual lib-tard such) here's Jim's update. Most importantly, he is recovering well and will be out on Wednesday if all continues accordingly. Jim Duensing / Nov 1, 2009 at 6:42 pm. First, I’d like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes. I have suffered a broken arm. It is currently pinned in 4 places. Additional surgery on it will probably take place on Wednesday. With my h...

View From The Porch. Books Bikes. Boomsticks. ".it's love and darkness and my sidearm.". Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Something in the water today. Pretend I'm a hypothetical college student. I am going to write a paper on self-defense, and my thesis is that " Most Gun Owners Consider .22 To Be Totally Ineffective For Self-Defense. To gather support for my theory, I poll gun owners with the question " Which would you prefer for self-defense: A .22 or a big stick? 26% respond " A .22. And get an A . ;).

Tomcat for your protection (. Tomcat for your protection. In an attempt to make double action work for my Sig Mosquito, I removed the magazine safety and key lock tonight. It didn't fix the double action problem like it did with my wife's Walther P22, but it makes me feel better none the less. It wasn't all that hard, I literally just removed all of the offending parts, listed below. 17 striker pin for integral safety lock. 27 spring for integral safety lock. 65 magazine safety pivot pin.

Tomcat for your protection (. Tomcat for your protection. More Militarized Than the Military. Police in the United States of America are more Militarized than the Military. Oh, and all of the bad guys we're going after are closely tied to killing and maiming people. What might be amazing to American cops is that the vast majority of our targets surrender when called out. Our military, when looking for enemy combatants, doesn't even do no-knock raids or knock and announce raids! Post a new comment.

Ed Driscoll End Clinton-era Military Base Gun Ban. For those who are wondering why an army base of all places is, effectively, a gun-free zone, the Washington Times notes its origins:. Among President Clinton’s first acts upon taking office in 1993 was to disarm U.S. soldiers on military bases. One of the left's dearest delusions is that gun free zones make people safer. As any survivors from gun free zone massacres could tell you, only law abiding citizens obey laws restricting guns. Post a new comment.

Tomcat for your protection (. Tomcat for your protection. Let's play a game of "what if? What if the SWAT team in Detroit hadn't kicked in the front door of the downstairs apartment, but had instead knocked on the door after surrounding the building? They have ballistic shields for the door knocker to take cover behind, so the risk of the bad guy shooting through the door can be addressed. Of coarse, the bad guy could just give himself up. Shot and killed the 7 year old girl. Oh, and the badguy was not l...
