Teaching and Living in the Middle East. So here’s what it’s supposed to look like:. And here is a recipe:. That’s a “liter” for all you non-metric types–remember how we were all told we were going metric in 1981? That actually happened everywhere else in the world.). Juice of five lemons. Orange blossom water 1tsp (optional). This sounds right, though I haven’t tested it yet. The recipe is not mine; it comes from here:. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Teaching and Living in the Middle East. A Walk To The Arabian Gulf: Part I. First, dodge the traffic on Al-Muthana Street outside my front door and cross to a smaller side street–this is the usual start of my morning run (5 am so I can finish before school):. Which looks like this:. Cross the empty lot and we’re at the pedestrian bridge that crosses a major divided highway:. Which looks like this:. We’ll continue eastward-ish to the second roundabout:. Notice the scaffolding: wooden, lashed together with...

Teaching and Living in the Middle East. Newer posts →. They Do Everything Wrong Here, Don’t They? That’s how it seems, anyway. It must be the standard epiphany for everyone new to living abroad: they do everything wrong here. Or if not exactly wrong, then backwards. Let’s start with this:. Which is a picture of the light switches in my living room. Those three switches on the left? The three on the right are. Off, so that I end up turning an entirely different light. A sequel to the popular. I suppose in...

Worauf ich immer antworte:"Yes, but it´s called Schorle"! Ja aber es heißt Schorle). Natürlich war ich verärgert...
