The Blue Chair: October 2008
http://nodrog2.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, 25 October 2008. 5 teachers are expected to cover for their colleague who will be off work sick for 8 weeks. The head says he does not want it to count towards the 38 hour limit for cover set out by the teachers' contract the STPCD. A colleague applies for the threshold last year and is succesful but because he only just scrapes through the head says he will not be backdate it from 2007 (as set out by the school's pay policy and the STPCD) but September 2008. Tuesday, 21 October 2008. And my b...

http://rationalparent.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
A geek's notes on rational parenting. Saturday, August 28, 2010. Gatto on the History of American Education. I just read an article on the history of American Education. By John Gatto - pretty thought-provoking stuff! Saturday, August 21, 2010. Found on Reddit, this blog post. Also, reading as punishment–what is that about? My friend was dumbfounded. “Why didn’t they talk to me about this? I could have told them what was happening.”. Monday, August 9, 2010. There's a subreddit Daddit. Now personally, I c...

The Rational Parent
http://rationalparent.blogspot.com/2012/07/after-reading-about-dragonbox-here-i.html
A geek's notes on rational parenting. Wednesday, July 4, 2012. After reading about DragonBox here. I bought and tried it - it's a game that happens to teach you some algebra. It's pretty cute and unlike a lot of "educational" games, it's actually fun and worthwhile by itself. The Geek Data blog has a few more app. To check out later when the kid is old enough. It won't be too long before it's possible to cover much of what's in a normal education through games like these. To Miss With Love.

Monef In The City. Global Citizen, Trivia Queen, Political Junkie, Pop Culture Fiend, Literary Explorer, Philosophical Journeywoman (yes, I have decided that is a word). Wednesday, June 14, 2006. Nationality/Identity is a distinctly odd thing. It is a question I get asked on an almost daily basis. Unsurprising really considering the fact that I am Nigerian, was born in Britain and am living in America but working at the British Consulate. The joys of globalisation! Is it the accident of birth? Now I know...
