Saturday, September 12, 2009. Except for some roadwork in Montana, I'd avoided bad traffic on this trip, until today. On Hwy 90 in downtown Chicago around 1 in the afternoon, things ground to a halt. I learned afterwards that the gridlock here is more or less permanent. I like Chicago, but whenever I come here I have a difficult time getting around. . The two nights went well.
