Tommy the Material Girl: In A Bind
http://tommythematerialgirl.blogspot.com/2015/08/in-bind.html
Sunday, August 09, 2015. He opened the door. Yeah! I didn't have a phone with me (of course) and G was golfing and never takes his phone so what would I have done? By the time I made any headway by myself, Bella would be dehydrated. I need to start carrying my phone. My day's accomplishment consisted to making binding for the three queen sized quilts and sewing them on the quilts and I did do that. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Tommy the Material Girl: The Quilting Process
http://tommythematerialgirl.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-quilting-process.html
Wednesday, August 05, 2015. This week is all about long arming. I have three queen sized scrap quilts to quilt, plus my jelly roll. The quilting is finished and I started to do the binding last night. Scrap quilt number uno has a leaf print on it. You can probably click on the picture to see it better. It is. Off the machine, quilted and the second scrap quilt is on the machine waiting for me. My day looms ahead. You are productive, arent you! 5:16 PM, August 06, 2015. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tommy the Material Girl: Posting #2
http://tommythematerialgirl.blogspot.com/2015/06/posting-2.html
Thursday, June 11, 2015. I am off to my second 9 hole golf game. I am in need of a handicap. There's a thing in Florida at our club that is called nine and dine. It's a couples thing and I would like to get confident enough to do that but I need a handicap. It takes ten golfing days of 9 holes to achieve that. One down, nine to go. Tommy the Material Girl: Bella, Always Bella
http://tommythematerialgirl.blogspot.com/2015/07/bella-always-bella.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Bella, Always Bella. I decided to stop sewing for a few hours and devote my time to the kitchen, preparing some food in the refrigerator that won't last much longer. That would be some meats and seafood. I was just gifted 6 pounds from my next door neighbor that she can't use before she moves out of the house TOMORROW! I'm not happy about the move at all. I've done it enough to other people tho' so I pretty much try to not comment about it daily. She is on the mend.

Robbie's Paw Prints: August 2015
http://robbiespawprints.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 27, 2015. First off this was our group at lunch on Saturday. We ate at The Bridge. S Waterside Grille, which was on the water, duh! Definitely a place I would head back to just to try another dish. I had grilled chicken with artichoke/spinach dip, which was excellent! Very moist and tasty! L-R) Mary, Irene, Me, Tommy, Mike (Tommy's sister - yes all the girls have/had boy's names! So that was my effort for the weekend. These are 1" hexes and the piece is around 10" x 6". Mary only stayed ...

Tommy the Material Girl: Why I Love Oversized Backing Fabric (It's Coming Out As A Novel)
http://tommythematerialgirl.blogspot.com/2015/07/why-i-love-oversized-backing-fabric-its.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. Why I Love Oversized Backing Fabric (It's Coming Out As A Novel). The one thing I don't look forward to doing in the quilting world is dealing with the backing. Manipulating large yardage is cumbersome and exhausting. But someone has to do it and I can't seem to interest. Any one to do it. Here are three quilt tops before I put on borders yesterday. They all are the same. Measuring in at 89 x 97. I try and match the borders with the backing. Guess thats why I stick to art quilts!

Tommy the Material Girl: Jelly Roll Production
http://tommythematerialgirl.blogspot.com/2015/08/jelly-roll-production.html
Monday, August 03, 2015. We gals had a wonderful weekend. Do you remember in a blog. In June that we all bought a deal of the day from Missouri Quilt Company? Well, this is it and it is from Kaufman Fabrics. This past weekend was when we were to make out quilt tops. Everyone picked their own jelly roll pattern and the accompanying contrasting fabric. This what Jean Ann came up with. Her accent fabric was. Clearly she chose black as her 'other fabric'. Peggy also chose black for her companion fabric.

Tommy the Material Girl: Wedding Bliss
http://tommythematerialgirl.blogspot.com/2015/07/wedding-bliss.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Well it was a memorable wedding, I must say. The guest list was very diverse and fun. There was more laughter and smiles, both in english and spanish, than I have ever seen at a wedding. Here is Jackie walking down the 'aisle' with her shoes sinking into the grass. The ceremony was in both english and spanish, which was very fun. The newly weds spent half the time under the pergola laughing, which made everyone else laugh. The jars of jam at each table setting. Wonder why?

Tommy the Material Girl: Rolling Along
http://tommythematerialgirl.blogspot.com/2015/07/rolling-along.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. I am still hammering away at my scrap quilts but they get very one note after a while so I have broken it up with a jelly roll quilt I need to make for another fund raiser. I chose a quilt top that my sister has already made and that I found the pattern in, of all places, my pattern drawer! This is the components of the jelly roll. I thought it had a florida look to it.
