Back on the bike today and feeling good. | Tom's Ride Across Britain

Tom's Ride Across Britain. Back on the bike today and feeling good. June 16, 2011, 10:05 pm. I woke up this morning determined to have a good day and it turned out to be just that. 110 miles today but the first 85 were just gently rolling, just what I needed to get the legs back into it. Andrew’s mum had been amazing and baked rock cakes and shortbread so we had these over 2 cups if tea. The stop was unbelievably well timed as we missed the biggest shower of the day as we sat warm and dry. Not only was t...

Tom's Ride Across Britain. June 20, 2011, 4:22 pm. For some reason known only to the route designer the last day was due to be the hilliest and one of the furthest. This was going to give many people a problem as there was no overnight camp planned for Lands End. Transport was provided to different transport hubs but they were. Fairly early on in the day. Something gave me a second wind today – I wasn’t quick compared to some but the desire to get to the end was driving me on. I didn̵...The final run...
Wind gusting to 30mph | Tom's Ride Across Britain

Tom's Ride Across Britain. Wind gusting to 30mph. June 18, 2011, 9:58 pm. Normally when you go out on bike, rides are circular, you can chose to head out into the wind as you know that the return run will be wind assisted. When you cycling the length of the country you don’t have that option. Today was a very hilly 113 miles from Bath to Oakhampton. Taking is through cheddar gorge, over the Quantocks. Then some very lumpy bits over the to Oakhampton. Tomorrow is the last push. 111 equally hilly climb...
A good hard day today really enjoyed it. | Tom's Ride Across Britain

Tom's Ride Across Britain. A good hard day today really enjoyed it. June 17, 2011, 10:34 pm. Just what the doctor ordered today – a short ride at just 90 miles but plenty hilly, 1800m. It started really slowly – 7 days in I’m clearly not a morning person! At this point the team split in two, I decided to go off with the faster group as I really wanted to do my own thing but was enjoying riding as a pack. Then from here it was up hill to the overnight stop at landsdown park race course. Fill in your detai...
Finally we get to England | Tom's Ride Across Britain
https://tomsjogle.wordpress.com/2011/06/14/finally-we-get-to-england
Tom's Ride Across Britain. Finally we get to England. June 14, 2011, 6:39 pm. Well another day another 100 miles…. We set of from glasgow just before the rush hour which was good but the traffic through central Glasgow was still pretty bad, only a few altercations with cars and soon we were on the roughest road in Scotland. We had 104 miles to go today and the road surface was rubbish – this did nothing for either my knee or my main contact point! Leave a Comment so far. Feed for comments on this post.

8230;I thought I had a burnout, but it was only a brain tumour! November 29, 2009 by tom. Tom has left us – he will always be in our hearts. Tom had saved this poem as draft, we believe he would’ve wanted us to share this with you…. My candle burns at both ends. It will not last the night. But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends –. It gives a lovely light. By Edna St. Vincent Millay. November 13, 2009 by tom. Life is beautiful and miracles do exist! A big thank you to all of you. Leave no stone unturned!
