So I started the year as I have for the past few years, head down and focussed on finishing my drawings for the Folio Society and House of Illustration Book Illustration Competition. Though this year I only heard about the competition a few days before Christmas so it was a seriously mad dash to the finish line.

I was approached by Aorta Burst. 8211; who hold a monthly film night at Roxy Bar and Art – to contribute to their zine. This month the theme is Indonesian Horror and this guy is my interpretation of a Pocong. Basically a ghost wrapped in a shroud. I was asked to illustrate an article for STIR Magazine envisaging what the new London School of Financial Arts hackspace might be like. The term hacker in this context being someone who looks at an existing system, dissects it and looks at it in a new way. I was commissioned before Christmas to produce a map for double page spread that would be a satirical round up of the worlds detention centres, much like a website or guide book review giving them minus scores. This is a very interesting and terrifying issue and I highly recommend grabbing a copy of the magazine if you get the chance.

This is a painting I did for my mum a few months back for her birthday. Lily and Pippa are miniature Daschunds, they are ace little dogs, I think I captured them rather well (hopefully my mum agrees!
