AdNation Middle East Blog: In other news... UPDATED
http://adnationme.blogspot.com/2009/03/in-other-news.html
Thursday, 26 March 2009. In other news. UPDATED. ENG gets in touch. (see end of post). So there's this whole other industry out there which couldn't give two hoots about Lynx it seems. Which is nice. Of more pressing matters, unsurprisingly, are people's wages. Specifically, those nice people at ENG. The company's been having problems paying on time for a while, and if this latest effort is to be believed, staff are still waiting for last month's paycheques. If this is true, it's definitely not good.

AdNation Middle East Blog: So you think we have it bad...?
http://adnationme.blogspot.com/2009/03/so-you-think-we-have-it-bad.html
Wednesday, 4 March 2009. So you think we have it bad? For the last few weeks, it's been cuts, cuts, cuts - and it's all pretty bad. But we should remember, we could be worse off - we could be in the UK:. ITV has announced it is cutting 600 jobs across its business, and plans to make other "significant" savings," reports the BBC, adding that the broadcaster made a £2.7 loss in 2008. AdNation Middle East Blog: Bhoyrul making sense? Say it isn't so!
http://adnationme.blogspot.com/2009/03/bhoyrul-making-sense-say-it-isnt-so.html
Tuesday, 24 March 2009. Say it isn't so! Yes, you read that right - Anil Bhoyrul, sometime enfant-terrible of ITP, is talking sense! Specifically, he has a witty dig. At the utter crap estate agents here are spouting, trying to convince people to BUY BUY BUY. Even in the way of estate agent lies, there are some doozies:. Eliot - Editor, AdNation. AdNation Middle East Blog: An open rasberry to Simon Jenkins
http://adnationme.blogspot.com/2009/03/open-rasberry-to-simon-jenkins.html
Tuesday, 24 March 2009. An open rasberry to Simon Jenkins. Below is an open letter to Guardian columnist and former Times editor Simon Jenkins, in response to his column:. As they did Ozymandias, the dunes will reclaim the soaring folly of Dubai. As many of my fellow Dubaians have already done, I read your comment piece on this city yesterday. Your contempt for a place that, unless you have missed a major point from your article, you have never visited beggars belief. However, as this would merely be low...

AdNation Middle East Blog: December 2008
http://adnationme.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Monday, 22 December 2008. March of 37,000 unemployed journos. Ulp That's torn it. Up until now, the received wisdom, especially on Dubai Media Observer, is that if you're working in the Middle East as a journalist, you're crap. Or at least weird, suffering from a breakdown, or actually enjoying life in the Sandlands - which probably makes you a congenital arsehole, in the eyes of the naysayers. Now, according to the report linked above, you won't be crap - just desperate. Peace and understanding through ...

AdNation Middle East Blog: February 2009
http://adnationme.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 25 February 2009. Hello again everybody. Been a bit busy here, so apologies for the lack of updates. Starting the catch-up, we have that old favourite: unfortunate ad placement. Exhibit A: Sunday's 7Days. Splash - too much junk food for kids. Ads (both of them) - McDonald's. Nice one, guys. Thanks to Nitin Mathew. Eliot - Editor, AdNation. Wednesday, 18 February 2009. Quack stats say Belgians care about branding. Perhaps. Er, or will they? A commenter on the article makes similar points - and ...

AdNation Middle East Blog: How insensitive can you get?
http://adnationme.blogspot.com/2009/03/how-insensitive-can-you-get.html
Wednesday, 4 March 2009. How insensitive can you get? Last week we had junk food ads next to health stories - but this autoserving ad on The Guardian's website takes the biscuit when it comes to deeply inappropriate ads (keep watching all the way for the full effect):. Automation's a wonderful thing, but only in moderation. Eliot - Editor, AdNation. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). AdNation Middle East Blog. Eliot - Editor, AdNation. AdNation Middle East Blog: Oh... hi!
http://adnationme.blogspot.com/2009/03/oh-hi.html
Tuesday, 24 March 2009. Apologies for the lack of updates recently - seems the blog sort of fell by the wayside with some of the exciting things that have been happening. And also the Lynx. Anyway, I'll be keeping the updates coming with a bit more frequency, going forward in our new out-of-box blog synergising paradigms. Eliot - Editor, AdNation. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
