Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Creativity is Easy, Writing is Hard. I am so jealous of those writers who talk about the characters in their head. I've been to tons of conventions where the authors go on and on about how they couldn't sleep because their characters wouldn't let them. They would need to get up in the middle of the night to write down that amazing scene. They eagerly await the words I set to paper and then take the time to correct me on what they really would or would not do. You bet I do!

Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Writing the Sequel is Hell. The biggest fear a writer can have is writing the second book. When you write the first book, it's like no one really notices. It's a new book, one among so many, but, book two is different. The sequel is the real problem. If the first book does, well then, the expectation is that book two will be even better. I did what any writer has to do when the pressure is building: I put it on the side for a month and wrote something else. The Legend of Eve.
