The life and times of Steve and Alisha. This year for Christmas and to celebrate Steve finishing his Bachelor's degree we took a Caribbean vacation. We flew down to the Dominican Republic for 8 wonderful days. Here are a few of the highlights from our trip. We arrived late Friday evening. Our luggage arrived Sunday afternoon. Wearing the same clothes (especially a long sleeved T-shirt) in hot humid weather for 2.5 days was an adventure to say the least. The drivers in the DR are CRAZY! Steve went parasai...

The life and times of Steve and Alisha. A Gem amidst Confusion. And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. I am posting this for two reasons. First, for those who have asked, this is my registry list. And second, this is my electronic copy of all the little sticky notes that are accumulating in my wallet about things I see and like. So, here goes. Stroller: The BOB Revolution - Mesa Orange, and Infant Car Seat Adapter. I don't really have a pref...

The life and times of Steve and Alisha. A couple of firsts. Well, this is the first official blog post of the Shepherd family blog. I actually set this up a year ago and did a couple of "test" blogs, but never shared them with anyone. So, welcome to the our blog. The life and times of Steve and Alisha. This week we jumped into the halloween spirit. Tuesday night we roamed about the D.I. looking for wonderful gems to use for costumes. A pair of men's brown and white polka dotted pajamas was the winner of the night followed closely by the bright purple crocks. Although the prize for most useful item went to the small blue, flamingo clad make-up bag for 50 cents. Other highlights of the week:. We survived speaking in our new (old) ward sacrament meeting. Now tha...

The life and times of Steve and Alisha. Money, money, money. My W-2 this year came with the sticker shock of "I've never made this money in all my years of working combined". And then the inevitable question of "Where did it all go? Anyway, with this pondering and the slight anxiety that comes from the many changes ahead in our life, I thought to myself the following things:. This may be the last few months of our life that we have so few expenses. I think this will also help prepare us for life with man...

The life and times of Steve and Alisha. Well, it's been over a month since I posted anything and it's probably been the most eventful month of our lives. Here are some highlights. And the most exciting thing of the month was that we welcomed Mitchell Steven Shepherd into our family. Here is the story. And here are the pictures because that's what everyone wants to see anyway. This is me and my huge belly. I'm smiling because I can no longer feel anything from my waist down. Dad is cutting the cord. We ha...

I have recently added a little survey (on the left side of the blog) for ya'll to submit your guesses as to if a little mister or missy will be joining our family.
