Closing the Show | Writing "Bentwater Roads"

A Play for Eastern Angles – by Tony Ramsay. A Final Footnote →. July 18, 2010. We finished last night with a barbecue and celebratory chocolate cake sitting under the huge sky outside the Hush House. About midnight in a wonderful echo of the play a classic coach, its empty interior brilliantly lit, sailed out if the night and disappeared into the darkness like a ghost from the 1950s. It was late by the time we said our goodbyes. It was their story after all. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Build ...

All This and Haydn Too. Pushing the Boat Out →. The Cloud of Unknowing. March 11, 2012. In this world we are so used to the sequence of cause followed by effect, it is difficult to believe that such a catasclysmic event as the creation of the universe did not involve some prime motivating force. One exercise was called “Unusual Positions” (nothing to do with that! Someone once said that “the existence of the watch proves the existence of the watchmaker”. That seems a useful starting point...8221; What ha...

Bees, Bread and Boats. Or the things I do to avoid writing. All the Geese in England. Return of the Hens. March 7, 2012. We’ve suffered a drop-off in egg production over the last few weeks. This was not entirely unrelated to a misunderstanding about whose turn it was to shut in the chooks which in turn led, the following morning, to the presence of a large dog fox sitting on the lawn surrounded by a blizzard of feathers. The untennanted hen house has been sitting in mute reproach ever since. With talente...

Bees, Bread and Boats. Or the things I do to avoid writing. Honey update, update. First trip to the river in 2012 →. October 17, 2011. These boats, shaped by the shallow waters and narrow rivers of the Broads, carry a huge area of sail for their hull size. These are the white sails you see everywhere in the flat landscape apparently moving through marshland grazing and green fields. As they pulled alongside we had a fine demonstration of her superiority in these conditions. I wanted to stand up and cheer.
