Simon Hill Green Wood Carving: Refining skills.
http://simonhillgreenwoodwork.blogspot.com/2015/04/refining-skills.html
Simon Hill Green Wood Carving. A blog of my green woodwork carvings and photographs. Sunday, 12 April 2015. A couple of weeks ago I had a lady and now friend come on one of my spoon carving courses wanting to refine her spoon carving skills. There were a couple of things she wanted to look at, one was to achieve a thinner neck and the other was to add a natural curve and flow from a flat piece of timber rather than a crook. This makes them more focused and the course can be tailored around their needs.

Simon Hill Green Wood Carving: Adze work on the low bench
http://simonhillgreenwoodwork.blogspot.com/2011/04/adze-work-on-low-bench.html
Simon Hill Green Wood Carving. A blog of my green woodwork carvings and photographs. Saturday, 2 April 2011. Adze work on the low bench. I've been trying out the new low bench today, I added a couple more holes for a Kuksa project. I started by using the adze to see how it holds, I made 4 smaller pegs to hold the wood. I also tried it out for gouge work. I must say that again it works well and holds reasonable well even when the gouge is struck with the mallet. 3 April 2011 at 17:09. The tools that I use.

I finished the Horse Chestnut ladle so I thought that I would put up a few pictures for those who are interested. I've also been making a couple more and using the adze to hollow the bowls. This one didn't quite split as I would have wished. I managed to get a decent sized ladle out of the top piece and a smaller scoop from the bottom piece. 27 February 2015 at 18:57.
