Sunday, August 7, 2011. Improving Upon Nature (Well, Natural Communication). Something similar I'm doing in my speaking class now is having a whole class discussion about topics related to the chapters and their goal is to speak communicatively in response to the questions but competing to use as many of our vocabulary words as possible. One of my students commented that it was a really helpful activity for her because she was speaking "naturally" (meaning "spontaneously"). Rate of language acquisition.
