Sunday, August 16, 2015. Last Tuesday evening we had a little goodbye party for Amber. Her mom and siblings were in town. Her older sister had a baby that week too! So that was nice. Dion took pictures for us. But didn't get the camera out until after Kaylee had gone to bed.so not many pictures of her. But it was a fun night of talking and eating and just enjoying all being together one last time. Keep in mind, I literally walked in the door from girls camp to attend this party. We will miss you so much!

Thursday, August 13, 2015. The big Massachusetts vacation has come and gone. It was the thing that Carter and I were both looking forward to this summer. Carter went for a month and attended EFY (youth retreat) and High Adventure Scout Camp. And I went for 10 days. My excuse for going was that I was "taking" Carter. I mean, I had to drop him off, right? I really enjoyed getting to see old friends. I didn't really take time to do any sightseeing. Although I had intended to do that. What a great welcome!

Friday, June 26, 2015. Whenever I am annoyed by something here in Utah. I try to list for myself all the good things about being here. I don't really want to be that person who complains about where they are. Especially when I longed to be here (or close to here) for so many years. But I just have to say. You knew there was a "but" coming, didn't you? The flies are making me nuts. We would get the occasional house fly in Mass. But I don't remember it really being a problem. Here they are everywhere.

Friday, May 22, 2015. Another one of those blog entries where I list miscellaneous stuff going on in my life. Kaylee had a doctor appointment the other day so I babysat Isabelle for the afternoon. We went to the bakery first. I mean, hanging with Grandma must include donuts. right? But we were sad to discover that they no longer have chalk for the tables. Maybe it was a pain to keep nice. So we took our donuts to go. We went to a park. And then to the adjacent city library! I've been meaning to go there.

Wednesday, July 30, 2014. We are in Utah. And we are *mostly* unpacked. Don't ask me about the basement or the guest room. We hung the TV over the fireplace. Because it's all set up for that already. I hate TVs over the fireplace. Huh, no picture of the actual tv.just the process. Without really thinking about the consequences. I started stripping the wallpaper off the wall of the dining room. Now it looks really terrible. And I'm tired of doing it. Isabelle has decided we are ok. Then we put on a show.

Sunday, August 9, 2015. I am here in Alaska,. Helping Amber and Branden get set up in their new place. I know that having them move so far away is going to be hard. But I didn't think I was that stressed. Until my body started to freak out on me. I have the worst cold sore outbreak that I've had in many years. My hands are covered in tiny painful blisters. That the Internet says is probably a form of excema caused by.stress. This morning I discovered they are forming on my feet as well. Boys week: Day 7.

The poor guy has been living out of the truck the whole time, but he is a good sport about it. Here is a picture he sent me. Apparently he got a hair cut 5 hours into the drive. Seriously, it has been amazing having her here both for my emotional well being and for help furnishing our apartment. I promise to post more about the apartment later; but for now I will tell you about our first Alaska adventure. Look closely to see all of the waterfalls running from the glacier, down the mountain.

When too much cycling is never enough. Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Dulwich Paragon - trashed. C'mon Jayne - let's go riding with Dulwich Paragon chaingang on Wednesday night! We'd checked out the website page. And reckoned it sounded like a ride for us. What started out on Wednesday evenings as the women's chaingang has metamorphosed into a sporting ride but one that is still sociable and takes time to re-group. Average speed 18mph which I calculate as a shade under 29kph. I can manage that easy!
