162 Top Mill Road, Raurimu. About Us at Top Mill Alpaca. We are Sven and Paula Svensson who met in Zambia in 1969 when we were working to develop animal husbandry projects. Sven is Swedish and I am English. Leaving Zambia, we worked in several other countries over the years and came to New Zealand in 2005 to join our 2 children who came here several years earlier. You are welcome to visit our farm and share with us our love for the Alpaca.

They thrived and we had our first females a year later. We find them rewarding animals, different from the usual farm and domestic animals, easy to look after, nosey, colourful and always interesting. Top Mill Alpaca Farm Adjacent to the Famous Raurimu Spiral

162 Top Mill Road, Raurimu. Our farm is 6.2 hectares and is in Raurimu, virtually on top of the famous railway Spiral. About half is in pasture and there are banks sloping down to the railway. Regenerating forest, mostly on the slopes, supplies our herd with a variety of leaves and twigs, ferns and lichens which supplements their diet in a natural way. The forest also supplies shade from sun and the very persistent rain round this area.
