Astrowatcher: January 2007
http://astrowatcher.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 30, 2007. I also viewed the Moon. It was 11.71 days old. The best areas were around Aristarchus especially the Vallis Schroter which stood out like a bright twisting line. In the South the crater Shickard was lit nicely and Nasmyth/Phocylides gave an interesting effect of light and darkness. Posted by Albireo at 10:35 PM. Monday, January 29, 2007. Today being my birthday, I am comparing the positions of the solar system bodies today with those on the day I was born. RA Dec RA Dec. Obviou...

Astrowatcher: October 2006
http://astrowatcher.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 21, 2006. This evening my North horizon was clear of clouds and I decided to catch a glimpse of this comet. In my location the comet is in a position which does not give much time for observing since it is low on the NW horizon just after sunset. Its postion is improving as its angle from the sun increases. As the month progresses the comet should get fainter but observation could be easier as it rises higher over the horizon. Posted by Albireo at 8:38 PM. I was not disappointed. Wi...

Astrowatcher: July 2006
http://astrowatcher.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 29, 2006. Dark sky site observing. Last night was the first time I took my telescope to a dark sky site. It was an event organized by the local astronomical society. Unfortunately, the site chosen at Zurrieq on the island's South coast was not as dark as I expected and the air was hazy due to the extreme heat. However, the Southern sky was reasonably clear with the Milky Way very evident through Sagittarius and Aquila. Posted by Albireo at 2:16 PM. View my complete profile.
