A Craig Walker's Blog: Perspective on 9/11
http://acraigwalker.blogspot.com/2012/12/perspective-on-911.html
A Craig Walker's Blog. Saturday, December 1, 2012. Yet, I'm sure that in the minds of many, especially in the poorer Islamic world, bin Laden is viewed as a great martyr, someone who stood up to the great Satan and struck with success. He has inspired many thousands, perhaps millions, to take up his cause to one extent or another. December 1, 2012 at 6:21 AM. Have you read Victory For Us Is To See You Suffer by Philip C. Winslow? I had a very interesting meeting in London . . during the intifada&...He sa...

A Craig Walker's Blog. Tuesday, September 14, 2010. The summer of grandkids. What a marvelously delightful summer this has been, with extended visits by our remote grandchildren. In June Teresa and Paisley came to visit for nearly six weeks. We got to know Paisley a lot better and saw her start walking and gain many new skills just in the time she was here. She is such a pleasant baby with a very agreeable personality. Friday, September 3, 2010. Mt St Helens Climb. Yesterday a group of us climbed Mt....

A Craig Walker's Blog: The Agony of Spinning
http://acraigwalker.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-agony-of-spinning.html
A Craig Walker's Blog. Sunday, December 2, 2012. The Agony of Spinning. Friday morning I got up at 7:30, and remarked to my still sleeping wife "I'm going to go suffer for 45 minutes". I was heading to a spinning class at Sunset Athletic Club. The clock seems to stand still as you push hard and try to hang on for what seems like eternity. December 2, 2012 at 8:55 AM. I LOVE spinning. So much fun and such a good workout. December 9, 2012 at 10:23 PM. What are you talking about? Teresa and Paisley's blog.

A Craig Walker's Blog: Trophies
http://acraigwalker.blogspot.com/2012/11/trophies.html
A Craig Walker's Blog. Thursday, November 29, 2012. The first trophy I recall receiving was for my participation in Little League baseball, when I was 9 or 11 years old. It wasn't for being the first place team, or the star player. Every boy got one, which I think I felt was a little odd. But I valued it nevertheless, and it made me feel important. Here is a sampling of some- a Chevy's mug I use all the time, a softball trophy from my top closet shelf, an engraved plate from a table tennis trophy, cyclin...

A Craig Walker's Blog: January 2012
http://acraigwalker.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
A Craig Walker's Blog. Sunday, January 15, 2012. The flick of a switch. I worked on the design of the AIM-9M, an improved version of the air-to-air heat seeking Sidewinder missile. The particular improvement of the 9M was the addition of counter-countermeasures to ignore decoy flares ejected by the target aircraft. I worked on fine tuning the electronic design through extensive lab and field testing. But the ultimate test was shooting the missile at an actual target, which we did once (while I was there)...

Personal and family website. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Annual Christmas Tree Outing. December 6, 2015. Today we went to the Furrow Farm to find and cut our Christmas tree. It was quite balmy, if wet and muddy. I’m trying to recall if we have ever had snow when getting our tree. If so, it is rare. We got the tree perhaps a week earlier than usual because Kristi is in town and we took advantage of her decoration skills and willingness. Such a nice tree. Thanks everyone! We were pa...

http://acraigwalker.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
A Craig Walker's Blog. Saturday, January 1, 2011. Books Read in 2010. I read 44 books in 2010. As I've noted previously, most of these I listened to on my mp3 player, which is how I get through so many. I'll list the first six as the ones that I enjoyed the most, or found most enlightening or inspirational. For most of the others I'll include brief comments. With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa. 8211; E.B. Sledge. I laughed out loud at some spots, and wept at others. Cry, the Beloved Country. For a...
