Top Ten Chicago Sports: February 2009
http://toptenchicagosports.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 27, 2009. Rest In Peace to two Bulls legends. TTCS will return with a new list next Monday. On Thursday February 26, 2009, the Chicago Bulls and their fans lost two of the all-time greats, Johnny ‘Red’ Kerr and ‘Stormin’ Norman Van Lier. Each made a great impact to the Bulls, Kerr as the team’s first head coach and Van Lier as a tough point guard in the 1970’s. RIP to Norm and Red. Posted by Eli Kaberon. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Top Ten Chicago Sports: Top Ten Most Disappointing Chicago Rookie of the Years
http://toptenchicagosports.blogspot.com/2009/06/top-ten-most-disappointing-chicago.html
Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Top Ten Most Disappointing Chicago Rookie of the Years. Only 27 athletes have won the Rookie of the Year honors in a Cubs, White Sox, Bears, Bulls or Blackhawks uniform, and actually that's not true. I'm factoring in the immortal Terry Dischinger, who was the 1962-63 ROY for the NBA's Chicago Zephyrs. Don't forget to check out our new home over at ChicagoNow. Had a very nice career after hitting 22 homers and 86 RBIs for the White Sox in 1966.yet none of it with the White Sox&#...

Sports Pros(e): (Not) live from Beijing
http://sportsprose.blogspot.com/2008/08/not-live-from-beijing.html
Where we still haven't finished that game of pool against the Maestro. Sunday, August 10, 2008. Not) live from Beijing. You may not have heard, but the hardy folks on the West Coast now have another natural disaster to cope with. Judging by the comments on the World Wide Web, it is worse than mudslides. And the election of a governor. Whose qualifications primarily consist of him being one tough dude. That is also the scenario in the Mountain Time Zone. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sports Pros(e): Ichiro will address you now
http://sportsprose.blogspot.com/2008/07/ichiro-will-address-you-now.html
Where we still haven't finished that game of pool against the Maestro. Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Ichiro will address you now. You got to love Ichiro. Heck, I've always supported people with one name. The wiry, cannon-for-an-arm right fielder apparently has another skill besides the brilliant ones he showcases on the field. That's right. Public speaking. Who knew cursing like a sailor translated directly into inside-the-park homers? You just don't hear that enough these days. Labels: All Star Game. Louis Vu...

Sports Pros(e): Fighting words
http://sportsprose.blogspot.com/2009/03/fighting-words.html
Where we still haven't finished that game of pool against the Maestro. Thursday, March 19, 2009. We don't know about you, but here at Sports Pros(e), there's nothing we love more than a good fight. Take two guys with chips on their shoulders and tattoos on their biceps, throw them in a chicken-wire cage and it's enough to make us forget how mad we are at those AIG traders who don't want to give back their bonuses. For the last time last fall). But who is the next Kimbo Slice. And where will he come from?

Sports Pros(e): A world record that may stand for awhile
http://sportsprose.blogspot.com/2008/10/world-record-that-may-stand-for-awhile.html
Where we still haven't finished that game of pool against the Maestro. Wednesday, October 15, 2008. A world record that may stand for awhile. Sometimes setting a world record involves years of training, loads of talent and maybe even a little luck. And other times setting a world record just requires the willingness to stuff a bunch of live insects in your mouth. See for yourself which categor. Travis Fessler of Florence, Ky., falls into. Who says there is no good news. In papers these days? Wednesday's ...

Sports Pros(e): Solzhenitsyn and stolen bases
http://sportsprose.blogspot.com/2008/08/solzhenitsyn-and-stolen-bases.html
Where we still haven't finished that game of pool against the Maestro. Sunday, August 3, 2008. Solzhenitsyn and stolen bases. We may be mostly concerned with fun and games here at Sports Pros(e), but we are writers after all. As such, we would be remiss if we did not note the death over the weekend of Alexander Solzhenitsyn, a Nobel Prize. Winning author of novels and non-fiction works that exposed the moral bankruptcy of the Soviet state. Welcome back, folks. Just a reminder that it's Hard Liquor. Fastb...

Sports Pros(e): More fun in the pool
http://sportsprose.blogspot.com/2008/08/more-fun-in-pool.html
Where we still haven't finished that game of pool against the Maestro. Sunday, August 17, 2008. More fun in the pool. Perhaps you have had your fill of watching. Stockpile more gold than Fort Knox. You've already given up on the Bears and their less-than-effective. And you can't really get excited about the pennant races on the north and south sides of town till September. Yet you are a sports fan and you need your daily fix. What to do? And the best part: Twiggy performs live, not on NBC time. Crews hop...
